Exciting new for all The Knife fans out there. The band is hosting an online streaming event this Friday (October 30) as they continue to mark their 20th anniversary as a duo.
Kicking off at 7.30pm GMT, they’ll stream classic The Knife videos and follow those at 8pm GMT with their Coachella 2014 performance, captured during the duo’s final tour in support of their final album Shaking The Habitual. Finally, at 9pm GMT, Olof Dreijer of The Knife will share a new DJ set. You can tune in here.
This Friday’s stream follows on from The Knife kicking off their 20th anniversary celebrations in August with the launch of a Bandcamp page for their Rabid Records label, which included previously unreleased material.

August 14th marked 20 years to the day since the duo put out their first record, a 7″ vinyl on their own Rabid Records label featuring the tracks ‘Afraid Of You’ and ‘Bird’. To commemorate the anniversary, they launched a Bandcamp page for Rabid, which include some previously unreleased music.

Featured on the page will be The Knife: Live At Terminal 5, a live album of a 2014 show the duo played at New York venue Terminal 5, which will be available on physical and digital formats in the UK for the first time. Their soundtrack to the 2003 Swedish thriller Hannah Med H will also be released digitally for the first time.
In addition to catalogue releases and previously unreleased The Knife material, Rabid’s Bandcamp page will also host past solo releases from the pair’s respective solo projects, including Karin Dreijer’s work as Fever Ray.
As well as the digital releases, the pair have reissued 2005 record Pass This On on 7″ vinyl, and released CD/DVD and LP/DVD editions of The Knife: Live At Terminal 5. Those releases can be found at Rabid’s web store, while an event to mark the anniversary is in the works for later this year.
