A new book on Aphex Twin is being released by music magazine Disco Pogo this autumn.

Set for release on 30th October, Aphex Twin: A Disco Pogo Tribute takes a deep dive into the influential British musician’s career through exclusive interviews, essays and features. The 250-page book was compiled by longtime Disco Pogo editor Jim Butler, and features contributions from various music journalists and experts.

Images from throughout Richard D. James’ career also feature in the book, including a cover portrait by influential photographer Wolfgang Tillmans. The accompanying text for the book reveals that Paul Nicholson, designer of the iconic Aphex Twin logo, opened up his archives to Disco Pogo for the project, with other contributions coming from labels Warp Records, R&S Records and Rephlex.

The book follows Disco Pogo’s tribute to Daft Punk, which came out 2023. Last year also marked the release of a book analysing every single Aphex Twin track, written by then-17-year-old author, Beau Waddell.

Aphex Twin: A Disco Pogo Tribute is available to pre-order now, with shipping from October 2024.

Fittingly, for a book that documents the artist’s career over more than three decades, Aphex Twin: A Disco Pogo Tribute comes out in the same month that Richard D. James is releasing an expanded 30-anniversary reissue of his second album, ‘Selected Ambient Works Volume II’, one of his most influential and best known projects.
