Episode 31 Pulse Multiply and Divide

January 26, 2011 · Posted in Uncategorized

Pulse division can be very useful in a modular synth, either to create a suboctave for an oscillator or to create new rhythm divisions. The synthesizers.com line doesn’t offer a pulse divider but it’s really easy to make one from a sequencer such as the Q119. But what to do if you don’t want to sacrifice an entire sequencer row for that purpose? Well I thought up a way using a sample and hold to create a flip flop kind of function. But I’m not sure if it really is more effective than using the sequencer, or cheaper for that matter :)
