Kent have announced that they have started recording their tenth studio album. Says the band: “We are currently residing in a studio in the south of France where we are putting together new wicked songs for yet another magic album. It’s gonna be really great! Hugs and kisses Kent.”

Allthough this is the first official news regarding the band since the last single was released in October 2010 the members have been involved in a lot of side projects the last year. Joakim Berg’s brother Adam Berg won an award for his short film “In” at the Gothenburg International Film Festival. Joakim Berg and Martin Sköld created the music featured in the movie. Kent also won three awards from the Gaffa magazine for 2011: Swedish album of the year (“En plats i Solen”), Swedish band of the year and Swedish hit of the year (“Skisser för sommaren”). Martin Sköld and Joakim Berg also host their own radio show “Kentlist” that airs 11 PM CET the first Thursday of each month on Spectrum (Sirius satellite radio). And for those who missed it, Martin Sköld collaborated with members from The Cure and Placebo among others in the band Polaroid Kiss. Jocke Berg and Martin Sköld also helped A-ha’s Morten Harket to write material for his new solo album.
