Sounds of the JUNO-60
pure Roland Juno-60 (1982) by RetroSound
Among the first in Roland’s amazing JUNO family! Six analog voices of polyphony and patch memory storage!! The JUNO-60 sounds great, however, like the JUNO-6 it lacks MIDI control. The JUNO-60 includes 56 patches of memory storage. The JUNO-60 is still popular due in part to opinions that it sounds better (punchier) than the JUNO-106. The JUNO-6 and 60 are very rich sounding synthesizers and are great analog machines as long as you can withstand the absence of MIDI control. The JSQ-60 sequencer is an external sequencer controller for the JUNO-60 and is usually worth acquiring. Of course nobody can deny that the wooden side panel look is a true sign of Vintage status!
EMW Patch Synthesizer JX-810P
EMW Patch Synthesizer for the Roland JX-8P and MKS-70.
“Our Patch Synthesizer is not just a patch randomizer, it uses an intelligent algorithm to create very usable sounds and has adjustable parameters to allow you to control the type of patch that will be created. Rediscover your synth with the EMW Patch Synthesizer series.”
Hexagon Eye – Circuit Bent Yamaha PSS-270
Hexagon Eye is a circuit bent Yamaha PSS-270. Chorus speed, depth, and morphback controls have been fitted. Morphback adjusts the chorus feedback and changes the timbre of the chorus signal simultaneously. An overdrive control is also provided. The sustwist control emphasizes the decay tails of sounds and brings out higher harmonics. An octave drop switch pitches notes down. The randomize switch produces new timbres when active during a patch change. When in use, the keys will play shifting sounds. All controls are fitted into a side cart to allow plenty of room and easy identification for live use.

Introducing the new virtual Klang Drum Machine
Now available from Supersynths, Klang Drum Machine is a new virtual drum instrument for Windows, featuring full enveloping, loop and groove editing, effects, pattern sequencing, and much more for the beat-making musician.
According to Supersynths, Klang Drum Machine is an eight-layer drum sequencing beast. Klang Drum Machine has eight layers, each with its own mixer, panner, MIDI channel selector, envelope controls, and loop editor. Each layer is MIDI CC learnable, so you can assign them to pads, keys, and so forth. As Supersynth notes, the pattern sequencer allows you to either create up to 64 patterns that can play in any order you wish, or you can stack them to create multi-timbral patterns. With Klang Drum Machine, you can load and save patterns and banks of patterns.
As for effects, Klang comes complete with reverb, delay, and a compressor — all tempo synced for great tempo effects. The virtual instrument also comes with a simple unison drone oscillator, which you can use to create rumbling drones, sc-ifi sounds, and anything in between.
The Klang core library (326 MB compressed / 750 MB uncompressed) features a wide variety of clangs, hits, strikes, and more. Many new dry samples are also included, covering bass drums, snares, toms, cymbals, side sticks, and more; in addition to the more unique samples available, there are plenty of “bread and butter” samples to allow you to create any kind of percussion tracks you wish.
Klang Drum Machine features at a glance:
- 750 MB sample library
- 8 Layers with envelope, mixing, and panning
- Multiple tempo-synced effects
- MIDI channel learnable and selectable
- Full-featured pattern sequencer
- Low footprint for instant results
- Use as many instances as you want
Until January 1, 2012, Klang Drum Machine for Windows will be available at the introductory price of $40. For a limited time, Klang Drum Machine will include the Cloudplayer and one expansion. You can learn more about Supersynths’ Klang Drum Machine virtual instrument at supersynths.com.

Odyssey Patches and Tutorial
Published 1973 by Arp Instruments Inc.
I’ve just put together the pics and the audio track from arpodyssey.com/roger-powell.html because it’s so nice to have it together…
This is the most beautiful tutorial for the ARP Odyssey i’ve ever heard. Thanks to Roger Powell for the tutorial and to Guy Phethean and the arpodyssey.com -people for keeping it alive.
While the Minimoog proved to be a runaway success as the first compact studio synthesizer, ARP responded with a compact and user-friendly studio synthesizer of their own with the Odyssey in 1972. An almost equally legendary machine itself, the Odyssey was ARP’s highest selling synth back then, and still is to this day in the second-hand market.
The Odyssey essentially gives you a simplified hard-wired ARP 2600 in a much smaller and affordable package. The Odyssey is a 2-oscillator analog synth (with duo-phonic capability) and it sounds really nice; the Minimoog has three oscillators and is capable of thicker sounds. The Odyssey comes well equipped with all the tweakable features and analog goodness you’d expect: a resonant low pass filter, ADSR envelopes, sine or square wave LFO, and a sample-and-hold function.
The Odyssey also added a few new features such as a high pass filter that could be used in series with the low pass, oscillator-sync capability, and pulse-width modulation. It is a very professional and expressive machine that can create nice analog basses, interesting leads, great effects and sweeping sounds straight out of a Tangerine Dream album!
There were many versions of the Odyssey over the years, each a little different. They can be broken down into 8 models spanning 3 Mark “Mk” versions.

Muz3um – New soundpack for the Z3TA+ 2
Muz3um for Z3TA+ 2 by fr4ncesco
“Muz3um, a free bank for Z3TA+ 2 has just been released.
Initially released in 2004, this collection featuring waveforms from analog synthesizers has been completely reprogrammed in order to use Z3TA+ 2 new features, including waveshaping modulation and the new filter types.
Now this collection contains 540 patches, organized in categories (Arps, Bass, Keyboards, Leads, Pads, Sequences) and integrated with Z3TA+ 2 browser. The orginal patches are present too, converted to Z3TA+ 2 format.
Special thanks to
