Kurt Weill’s LOST IN THE STARS played on theremin by Rob Schwimmer
This video captures a performance, by Rob Schwimmer, of Kurt Weill’s Lost in the Stars.
Schwimmer uses a Moog Etherwave Theremin, played through an Electro Harmonix Talking Machine, inspired by Peter Pringle’s virtuosic performance of Puccini’s Nessun Dorma.
Schwimmer has worked with a wide range of artists, ranging from Antonio Carlos Jobim to Laurie Anderson to Stevie Wonder.
“Kurt Weill’s beautiful song played on the Moog Etherwave theremin. I used the Electro Harmonix Talking Machine (a great combination discovered by thereminist Peter Pringle) for the voice… Inspired by Judy Garland’s crazed rendition from her TV show and dedicated to Mary Cleere Haran.”
Arturia Minibrute Gates the Monotribe
In this sinister little piece the Monotribe makes a brief appearance (as a drum machine only) receiving gate signals from the MiniBrute. Apart from this the MiniBrute rules supreme over the rest of the tracks

This is the second tune I made for my debut album, “To Jupiter and Back”, released in May by Secret Entertainment: http://www.inverse.fi/store/?p=en.levyt.item.html&pid=17004
This video was recorded live at Kulttuuritehdas Korjaamo, Helsinki, 30th of November 2012. Many thanks to Lauri Kujanpää and Pertti Grönholm for working the cameras.
The song was performed using only analog synthesizers, either played live or sequenced. Equipment used in this song: Korg Micro-preset M500, Poly-61, Polysix; Logan String Melody; Touched by Sound DRM1, Roland TR-808, Juno 60, Alpha Juno 1 & 2; Moog Source; Electro Harmonix Small Stone; Yamaha RS7000 (only for MIDI sequencing); Behringer DDX3216, ADA8000; Lexicon MPX500; Steinberg Midex 8 (as midi patchbay).
Unfortunately, the audio recording from the concert failed – it was recorded only in boring mono. But fortunately, I recorded my general rehearsal a few days before the gig, so the main audio you hear is from that.
Cameras: Canon HF100 & HF M406 x 2
Dueling Monotribes 85BPM
Always up for a good fight
This video features John Keston and Lucas Melchior improvising on two synched up Korg Monotribes. The Korg NanoKontrol is being used to apply swing to the sync signal as well as control delays and filters. The two electronic musicians are teaching a class, titled “Drum Machines,” starting January 17, 2013 at the Ableton certified training center Slam Academy in Minneapolis. Learn how to make music by synchronizing your musical devices, old and new. Featuring Ableton Live, Dave Smith Instruments Tempest, Expert Sleepers, Korg Monotribe, Sequential Circuits Pro-One, and more!

EMW Modular System – demonstration
Some sounds and sequences of our new line of Eurorack modules.
Moogerfooger ClusterFlux fbk playing
Moog Moogerfooger Cluster Flux MF-108M, with feedback at maximum, can be “played” from MIDI Notes On/Off. In this video, the sound source is, as usual, the Acidlab.de MIAMI Analog Drum Machine; the frequency/time of MF-108M is played with Novation SL25 MkII MIDI master keyboard.
Shooted with an iPhone, audio in glorious mono.
The clock frequency of Moog Moogerfooger MF-104M analog BBD delay can be severely down scaled from external MIDI control. So, you can use the MF-104M as a grunge/glitch/hack/drone machine on every audio source. On this (dirty and short and easy) video bits, MF-104M is munching the Acidlab MIAMI analog drum machine.
Nothing But Noise’s (Front 242) cover of Joy Division’s Love Will Tear Us Apart live in Antwerp 2012
Nothing But Noise, a project from Front 242’s mastermind Daniel Bressanutti, Dirk Bergen (ex Front 242) and Erwin Jadot, has released 2 videos from their live concert at this year’s BIM festival in Antwerp. The first of the two is a cover of Joy Division’s “Love Will Tear Us Apart”. The second is the track “Mooglish”, also recorded live in Antwerp.

Therevox ET-4 Demo
Therevox ET-4 analog ribbon synthesizer.
Inspired by the Ondes Martenot’s au ruban controller, the ET-4 is controlled by moving a finger along a reference keyboard shaped to provide tactile feedback. Dual pressure sensitive intensity keys control the amplitude of the ET-4′s two independent analog oscillators.
“A few sounds I made with my new Therevox ET-4. No processing was done to the raw output of the ET-4 other the running some of the sounds through an MXR Carbon Copy delay pedal. The reverb is the ET-4’s built-in spring reverb. With some of the sounds I control filter cutoff using a Moog expression pedal.”

Electronic instruments: Caelestis Teaser
Caelestis is a unique, sample based generative music app that creates sounds with bouncing balls. Three shapes on the screen are used as ‘rooms’ that contain a sound. Different coloured balls can be thrown around inside these rooms, generating notes when one collides with a side. Using different combinations of balls and sounds, all kinds of beautiful performances can be achieved.
Features:
– Three rooms, with up to three balls at one time per room. Each room can be spun around to change the path of the balls inside.
– Balls added and removed easily by dragging or tapping in the middle of each room.
– Four different ball colours.
– Speed control for the balls.
– Pitch control using the built in keyboard, octave control using the different coloured balls.
– Delay and Reverb FX.
– A mixer unit, allowing volume and FX control over each room.
– 30 presets in three categories: Tuned, Abstract and Percussive.
– Import your own samples into the app via Audio Paste. Audio can be re-pitched by up to 12 semitones. Please note that only WAV and MP3 are supported formats.
– Record your performances and export them via Audio Copy
– Please note that Audio Copy and Paste is only available after a paid upgrade.
