Demo of the new FAIRLIGHT CMI iPad App

January 19, 2011 · Posted in Uncategorized

Fairlight’s iPad application simulating the series 2.

In addition to Peter Vogel, Fairlight Sampler author, showed off the latest model of the Fairlight, they also featured showed a Fairlight, Emulator for Apple iPad, Iphone and Ipod Touch.

The app is based on a Fairlight CMI Series II, and has most of the features – in addition to the connections. But the sequencer is ready and able to see the waveform is plotted in 3D. A really cool feature is that the waveform changes the perspective, depending on how you hold the iPad: one. There are also features not previously available, such as the ability to edit samplingars loop points in real time.

However, there is one difficult challenges to overcome for those who thirst after a Fairlight. When the app pops up on the Apple App Store by the end of January, it will not have the support of core midi. But it is quite possible that it will in a future update.
