Syntar is a Vst Instrument (or more a Rompler with some additional effects) which produces Sitar-like sounds.

I’m not a Sitar expert but still it does sound nice to me – I can see some potential there (ie. layering it with a guitar).
Small valuable plugin – probably the best you can get for free
