seqSQUARED: The Analogue Pattern Generator
seqSQUARED is a do it yourself (“DIY”) kit and eurorack assembled module for analog modular synthesis. It will be available shortly in multiple package options:
– Fully assembled and tested Eurorack module
– Eurorack kit (for DIY)
– Universal kit (for DIY)
– Bare PCB + Microcontroller (for DIY)
It takes up to four sequencers’ CV and Gate as input and allows you to arrange them into larger patterns up to 32 steps in length. It generates patterns much the same way you would in Fruity Loops or other software, except with analog hardware.
It is a perfect companion to an array of hexinverter.net sympleSEQs!
It works very similarly to the many sequential switches available on the market today, like the Doepfer A-151 or Fonitronik switch, except that it is programmable. Meaning, you can program arbitrary patterns of sequences to make musical arrangements, not just go A, B, C, D, repeat, like with most sequential switches.
This module is meant to FEEL analog. It uses potentiometers and 5mm LEDs, NOT LCDs or menu-driven editing. Because of this analog user interface, it is quite fast and painless to program once you have used it for a few minutes.
Once everything has settled down after pre-orders are shipped, kits and modules will be available in hexinverter.net’s online shop as well, at:
LDB-1 Analog Drum Machine – Roland TR recreation
The Delptronics LDB-1 “Little Drummer Boy” is a modern recreation of the classic analog drum machines of the 80’s, like the Roland TR-606 and TR-808. Our goal was to recreate the warm sounds of the classics, using all analog circuitry — not samples. The brain of the LDB-1 is a powerful digital microcontroller that triggers the analog drum sounds and provides the sequencer, programmability and connectivity features. Eight instruments: Bass, Low tom, high tom, snare drum, woodblock, hand clap, closed hi-hat, and open hi-hat. Easily interfaces with other instruments, synthesizers, DAWs, etc. through analog connections, MIDI, and DINsync. The LDB-1 has all of the features of a classic analog drum machine in a small, affordable package.

Raw Voltage – new Maschine Expansion featuring sounds of a huge modular synthesizer system
Native Instruments today introduced Raw Voltage – a new Maschine Expansion which features the sound of a huge modular synthesizer system. Raw Voltage contains kits, instruments and patterns based on the organic sound characteristics of analog synthesis.
Here are all the details from NI:
Sampled from a one-of-a-kind analog modular system, RAW VOLTAGE has a wide sonic scope, inspired in part by experimental and avant-garde electronica. The drum and percussion sounds are punchy, loud and direct, while the sampled basses, leads, pads and soundscapes are rich in detail and analog atmosphere.
The expansion also includes 140 expertly-programmed patterns, providing a wide selection of styles from broken, jagged rhythms to steady, flowing grooves.
Raw Voltage is based on a unique custom modular system used and created by Norwegian synthesist Roger Grønberg (Frodebeats). The system includes modules from Modcan, MOTM, Oakley, CGS, STG, Encore, Buchla plus many unique custom and DIY modules, as well as analog synthesizers like Arp Odyssey/2600 and Korg MiniKorg 700s.
A compact version of Raw Voltage is also available for iMaschine for iPhone.
Raw Voltage is available at the NI Online Shop for $59/49 EUR. For owners of iMASCHINE, the compact version of Raw Voltage is available via in-app purchase for $0.99/0,79 EUR.
Time machine: ARP Odyssey
A voyage into the heart of the ARP Odyssey from the year 1972.
Exploration by Marko Ettlich
2 Osc per Voice I Saw, Pulse; PWM, FM, Sync, Noise
Filter – 24dB lowpass
static highpass filter
sample/hold
It has been used by Ultravox, Gary Numan, John Foxx, Vangelis, Elton John, Jethro Tull, Tangerine Dream, ABBA, Herbie Hancock and many more.
The Odyssey essentially gives you a simplified hard-wired ARP 2600 in a much smaller and affordable package. The Odyssey is a 2-oscillator analog synth (with duo-phonic capability) and it sounds really nice; the Minimoog has three oscillators and is capable of thicker sounds. The Odyssey comes well equipped with all the tweakable features and analog goodness you’d expect: a resonant low pass filter, ADSR envelopes, sine or square wave LFO, and a sample-and-hold function.
The Odyssey also added a few new features such as a high pass filter that could be used in series with the low pass, oscillator-sync capability, and pulse-width modulation. It is a very professional and expressive machine that can create nice analog basses, interesting leads, great effects and sweeping sounds straight out of a Tangerine Dream album!
There were many versions of the Odyssey over the years, each a little different. They can be broken down into 8 models spanning 3 Mark “Mk” versions
Mesh – new virtual synthesizer instrument for Windows
Homegrown Sounds has announced Mesh, a virtual synthesizer instrument for Windows.
The idea behind Mesh was to create a Virtual Analogue mono synth in the style of the Minimoog with the addition of 5 Tempo based LFOs for exploring rhythmic potential. In comparison to previous Homegrown Synths, Mesh is very simple using 3 Oscillators and a Sub Oscillator to shape the sound, a single oversampled Low Pass Moog style filter, and 3 Envelopes. The LFOs can modulate most parameters, and there are several quantized pitch destinations to enable complex one finger sequences to be constructed. Add to this a compact effects section comprising of a Modulator, a Delay and SoundScaper and Finally an Arpeggiator which all adds up to a simple lightweight sonic playground.
The Oscillators provide the usual suspect waveforms such as Sine, Saw, Ramp, Triangle and Square, but also add a large selection of Digital Waveforms to expand it’s sonic capabilities. The filter can be oversampled up to 8 times which improves the quality of the sound as well as providing a different character for each of the modes.
Although Mesh is designed as a non velocity based Mono Synth, it can be used as a Polyphonic instrument, and velocity can also be enabled. There are also a set of modulation parameters for assigning Velocity, Aftertouch, Mod Wheel and Pitch to a wide selection of destinations.
Mesh for Windows (VST) is available to purchase for the introductory price of $20 USD for a limited time (regular $40 USD).

SYNCHIME CLONE ANALOG DRUM SYNTH WITH MINI8 SEQUENCER
THIS IS THE SYNCHIME CLONE HOOKED UP TO A MINI 8 ANALOG SEQUENCER
This is a clone of a 1980’s analog drum synth called a Synchime, others in the series include Syntom and synbal. This clone also has a CV input which is not on the original Synchime.
Moog showcases the MF-104M Analog Delay
The MF-104M features an all-analog signal path with 800ms of all analog delay time, 6 Waveshape LFO, Dedicated Tap Tempo switch assignable to Delay Time or LFO Rate, MIDI control and recall of every function, and Spillover Mode which has been the most popular modification to the MF-104.
The Classic MF-104 was designed by synthesizer pioneer Bob Moog and released in 2000. It utilized a special “Bucket Brigade” delay chip that allowed the effect to remain completely analog. Unfortunately, the supply of these chips was limited and the final MF-104 was sold in 2001.In 2005 there were two limited reissues of the Classic MF-104; the MF-104Z and the extremely rare MF-104SD, of which only 250 were made.
The new MF-104M Analog Delay utilizes the same vintage Bucket Brigade chips found in the Classic MF-104 and faithfully recreates the sound of its coveted predecessors. In addition, the MF-104M includes a number of customer requested feature and function upgrades.
