Ancestral call – Alba Ecstasy

January 3, 2011 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on Ancestral call – Alba Ecstasy

adimsimion shared this video with us – First synth jam on 2011 using the usual gear: Roland MC-307, Evolver DSI, Korg microX, Korg Z1, Waldorf Blofeld.

This year will start soon with new acquisitions: Korg microKorg, Clavia Nord Wave, a Mopho keyboard, and I want to upgrade my audio monitors: Adam A7x or Focal CMS50 I think. I didn’t decided yet what monitors to choose in 1000 euros price range. Will see!

The making of an album

Joseph Raglani has shared a couple of videos covering his process towards a new album

Decided to chronicle the making of the follow up to Of Sirens Born. We’ll see if I can keep it up. I’m just in the demo stage and getting some ideas down. What you see here is all played live (well with a few sequencers). I’ve found that long hair and funny hats help with this process.
I’m playing a Dave Smith Mopho keybord with a Tetra in tow. Doepfer A-100, Synthi-R, Moog Voyager Old School (sequenced by the MFB Step64) and the Tip Top Audio Z8000 is doing some modulation sequencing. Left hand is playing the melodic part, right hand is tweaking. I only say that because it’s a little hard to see what’s going on from this angle. Recorded Dec 6th, 2010.

A couple of patches featuring my Synthi clone, A Doepfer A-100 Modular system and my first first two or three runs with the Tip Top Audio Z8000 sequencer. In the last clip, all three of the aforementioned are being triggered by an old Univox SR-55 drum machine via the Doepfer A-119. Headphones are a must here. There is a lot of V.C. panning going on.
Some of the modules featured here are the
Buchla clones –
A-149-1, A-101-2 and the Plan B Model 13.
Analogue Systems –
Rs95e, Rs95, EMS Synthi filter, Ems Trapezoid Filter, VCA and EG.
Tip Top Audio Z8000
Plan B Model 14 and plenty of multiples are functioning as substitutes for the EMS pin matrix.
The rest are standard Doepfer modules with a little bit of history behind them… (I bought them from Bill Leeb about 10 years ago)

Mopho – free VST

May 30, 2010 · Posted in Uncategorized · 3 Comments

For fans of the Mopho but who cannot afford the hardware version

With the MOPHO VSTi it is really possible to get out every sound from this great analog synth!
The Vsti is free: http://code.google.com/p/ctrlr/downlo…
It`s there for windows and OSX!
I was really waiting for that VSTi because MIDI Implementation of MOPHO is not working with every controller, the MOPHO knobs are crappy and now I can finally use the APC 40 to control mopho

I recommend headphones to hear the analog quality of this demo
