Polymath – new mega modular synth in the makings
Analogue Solutions’ teaser pics of a new synth, the Polymath, that they describes as a ‘mega modular synth’.
It’s currently under development, but here are some details:
Poly/Para version of the Telemark.
Full patchable, so can be totally reconfigured.
4x VCO, 2x LFO, Multimode Filter, 2x ADSR, S+H, RM, Noise, Multiples, Spring ‘verb, Analogue Sequencer, Arpeggiator, 4 chan. MIDI-CV, Mixer, Goose neck lamps, handle, Wood, and probably more that I forget
Pricing and availability are to come.
Modular synthesizers: Malekko Mega Chimes
Some retro-electronic sounds via ‘djangosfire’s mostly Malekko modular system, details below:
The Megawave is acting like a voltage controlled quantizer for this patch. BTW – the Megawave is really turning out to be my “go-to” module…..its really capable of MANY duties in a modular system.
Malekko VCO’s sounds sooooo good when frequency modulated.
Only filter used was the right side of a Dual Borg set to resonant VCF mode.
SAMO Frustration
Here’s some studio footage from the SAMO Frustration recording session from last Saturns day night.

A further development of the LFO modulating a VCO’s waveform to modulate a Miniwave effect. In this case it’s an SSL Quad LFO modulating the pitch of a synced Q106 VCO running at audible speeds.
That VCO then alters the cutoff of a highpass filter into which a second Q106 is fed, which then powers the miniwave.
At various points playing with the octave settings on the slaved oscillator. A Q960 sequencer provides the basic pitch while its second channel determines the waveform selection on the Miniwave.
The horrendous jet-engine crescendo is derived from the resulting cacophony being fed into a Boss SX-700 effects processor with lots of chorus and delay at heavy regen settings.
Malekko Richter Megawave – 1st Riff 2013
‘djangosfire’s first actual “patch” jamming with the new Malekko – Richter “Megawave” wavetable/waveshaper module.
“I patched a Saw waveform from the “Oscillator II” into the Megawave wave shaper input. Then an “Envelator” provided a clock (for the sequencer) and nice transient patched into the Megawave CV wave select.
Output of the Megawave patched into a “Dual Borg” VCF/LPG then finally into an Echophon Delay. Also, there is a free running Tri LFO from an “Anti-Oscillator” – patched into the CV cutoff of the Dual Borg.
4 notes pounded into the ground – meanwhile knob tweaking timbre exploration.”
The Malekko/Richter Megawave is a selectable wavetable device featuring many of the available preset Wiard Miniwave ROM waveforms. Each of the ten ROM selections contains 256 waveforms. Not an oscillator, the Megawave can be used as an audio wave shaper, complex LFO function generator, stage quantizer, random function generator, non-linear waveform distortion unit, etc.
WAVE, BANK, and ROM selection are all voltage controllable and each CV input has fine control.
The Megawave wavetable device is 16hp, 35mm deep, and consumes around 90mA power.
