Crystalline Plasma Radio Waves

October 26, 2015 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on Crystalline Plasma Radio Waves

Paul Normand Lebel captures a multi-platform modular soundscape performance, Crystalline Plasma Radio Waves. Lebel’s performance combines hardware synths & samplers, modular synth and touch-based sample mangling, details below:

I used two Barcus Berry contact microphones to sample this extremely simple music box I made from a 5 dollar player I bought on amazon. It comes with a hole punch to make your own chords and melodies. Each mic is processed through it’s on convolution reverb before being sampled via the Octatrack, Samplr and the WTPA2. The WTPA is being triggered by Medow Physics (controlled by the Monomer grid). This gets sent through the modular for processing via the 4ms SMR, Clouds and the Erbe Verb. I’m using a Korg Nano to mix the volumes of all 3 outputs (via the ESX 8CV) to create the textures. It took me hours to record this because I got so lost in all the textures the Medow Physics/WTPA/Modular were making.

Samplr is routed through the Cocoquantus and played live. The OT is running 6 chopped up versions of the sample which I’m constantly mixing with another Korg Nano.

Noodling with Reaktor 6 Blocks – Sequencer & Clock Dividers

October 24, 2015 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on Noodling with Reaktor 6 Blocks – Sequencer & Clock Dividers

Instrument Download : http://bit.ly/ReaktorSeq02

The first 4 mins is just setting up the connections for the patch, so please be patient for the audio to start playing. The basic idea here is to use a clock divider to spit the incoming clock and send those gate values to modulate oscillator FM, pitch, etc. I do go a bit overboard with patching these gate signals to even run the clocks of the sequencer etc. Towards the later part, a DISTORTION module is added as well and the OSCILLATOR’s individual waveforms are routed into it and processed with the same gate signals coming from the clock divider to create some unpredictable tones, also using a secondary step sequencer to modulate LFO, ENVELOPE etc.

AutoSwell Pro – new automatic volume effect plug-in for Windows

October 24, 2015 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on AutoSwell Pro – new automatic volume effect plug-in for Windows

Pecheneg-Audio-AutoSwell-Pro-700x386

PechenegFX has announced the release of AutoSwell Pro, an automatic volume effect plug-in for Windows.

Do you remember AutoSwell Light? Now we present the new professional version of the plugin – AutoSwell Pro! Besides the features inherited from AutoSwell Light it has several new amazing effects, which will make your music much more exciting.

AutoSwell Pro features

  • Probably you want to play with different shapes of swell attack or adjust swell shape for overdriven or compressed guitar sound. This flexibility is allowed with the parameterForm, which also displayed on the right top panel of the plugin. Moreover, you can see an animation of a swelling process during the work of the plugin.
  • May be you need to control plugin by side signal or put the plugin after another effect, such as overdrive. For these purposes you can use side chain detedtion. Just route the track with control signal to the track with your plugin to the channels 3/4. You can use this effect also in live playing, if you enable signal monitoring in the both of the tracks.
  • Third feature, which is enabled by default is midi controlled swell. If you have already recordered track and you want to control the swell process by piano or swell the signal between two notes, where the detection doesn’t work. Or, probably you want to swell only selected notes. Just place the midi notes at needed time in the 16th channel.
  • There is also possibility to cancel the standart note detection (by input or side chain) using the midi. If you place the first midi note (C0 or C-1 on different DAWs) at needed time in the 16th channel, then the plugin will not perform the swell until the note is finished.

AutoSwell Pro for Windows (VST) is available for purchase for 15 EUR.

Motus – Creative Motion Enhancer

October 24, 2015 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on Motus – Creative Motion Enhancer

Motus allows users to literally play music in the air. No keys, buttons or knobs. While holding Motus in hand, you can play the note and at the same time change its timbre by using different motion gestures. Motus prototype was already used by contemporary dance theater for 3 seasons, so we already had traction before launching.”

See https://motusmotus.com for additional details including their crowdfunding campaign for the Motus.
