The PT-80 consists of a 2 octave monophonic keyboard with the sounds: piano, harpsichord, organ, violin, flute, clarinet, trumpet and celeste. The small keys on the left side is an auto chord section that is synchronized to the rhytm section. The rhytms are: Rock, disco, 16-beat, 2-beat swing, 4-beat swing, samba, bossanova, beguine, slow-rock, march, tango, waltz.
The rhythms are good and a useful thing is the ability to make fill-ins. If you, for instance, have choosen a disco rhythm and it is running, then press the disco button again and the fill-in comes.
Another feature of this model is the changeable ROM-pack that contains 4 melodies. These melodies can be played by the instrument alone or as a two way act: The instrument supplies the accompaniment, you do the melody.

Lloyd Cole to release new electronic album ‘1D Electronics 2012-2014′
Out on September 4th is the new electronic album from Lloyd Cole. Again based on his work with modular synths it continues to where he left of with “Selective Studies Vol. 1″ which was released in early 2013. The new album consists of the unused submissions (both Hans-Joachim Roedelius and Lloyd Cole had submitted maybe 400% more than was ultimately used) which weren’t really finished. Some pieces were originally created with overdubs by another in mind. Some were simply experiments.
Says Lloyd Cole: “None of the pieces involves the use of a piano keyboard or a computer, except to record it. Some modulations were executed by hand. Most were generated by programmed sequencers and logic. Each piece is a self contained electronic circuit. When it came to selecting the pieces it became clear that certain pieces would need to be shortened if this was to become an LP or CD. I made rudimentary edits, the difficult stuff was done by Jonas Foerster in Berlin.”

This cover version is a mixture of the both the original version and JAIA’s Express Remix – with a few of my own additions thrown in.
The song was performed using only analog synthesizers, either played live or sequenced. The performance was recorded directly from the mixer to a stereo track and later mixed together with the ambience from the room. A few mistakes have been cut out and replaced with the audio from a rehearsal take.
