R.I.P Visage frontman Steve Strange is no more
The official statement on the Visage Facebook Page reads:
“We are extremely saddened to announce that Steve Strange died at 11.15 local time on Thursday 12th February, in Sharm El Sheik International Hospital, Egypt. Steve died in his sleep, of Heart Failure. Steve’s family, band members and friends are all distraught at this sudden news of his untimely death. Steve’s family request privacy at this extremely difficult time.”
Steve Strange was a pivotal figure in the new romantic movement, fronting Visage, a band who perhaps more than any other embodied the spirit of the Blitz kids. He famously appeared in David Bowie’s ‘Ashes To Ashes’ video, and had recently revived the Visage name for a new album and some live appearances.

TheWarp is a modern reinterpretation of the legendary ARP 2600 semimodular synthesizer, produced by ARP Intruments from 1970 to 1981.
TheWarp is based on the original schematics and is built with analogue components in traditional THT mounting and soldering process. According to the developers, the functions and technical specs are identical to those of the original instrument.
TheWarp’s front panel has been modernized to fit within standard 19″ rack size. The new instrument does, though, retain the graphic design, the size of the sections and feel of the original.

Metroland is back with new double album
The career of Belgian electronic act Metroland has been nothing less than a rocket launch. After there very well received debut album “Mind The Gap” and the recent conceptual “Thalys” 12″ vinyl release, today, the Belgian duo presents “Zeppelin”, the first EP (available in 2 versions) from their forthcoming 2nd album “Triadic Ballet”.
Metroland’s “Zeppelin” will be released in 2 different 3-track download editions and also includes the track “The Hindenburg Landing” containing the authentic audio report by journalist Herbert Morrison, directly recorded at the time of the disaster which took place on May 6, 1937 and in which 36 people perished.
You can order both versions – each holding a different track list – on Bandcamp. A video for the the title track is in the making and will be launched pretty soon.
