There was a dedicated room for Ableton at the DanceFair in Utrecht, where you could rock up and quiz a team of Live ninjas (Certified trainers) about the finer points of producing using Ableton Live.
We caught up with Menno Keij who gave us some insight into incorporating VST plugins using instrument racks and mapping the named parameters on the Push, MAX for Live devices and a couple of neat button combinations – watch out for those.
Elektron: Did you know? About parameter locking
Parameter Locking is Elektron’s name for their approach to step sequencing parameter automation. Parameter locks give you the ability to do per-step parameter changes on your sounds.
The Beloved – Sweet Harmony and Hello
The Beloved – Sweet Harmony (1992)
Formed in November 1984 when Guy Gausden joined Journey Through, the trio previously formed by Jon Marsh, Steve Waddington and Tim Harvard.
The group renamed itself to “The Beloved” and evolved towards a dance sound quite similar to New Order.
By 1987 the band was reduced to a duo after Harvard and Gausden had left.
After releasing “Happiness” and its sister remix album “Blissed Out” in 1990 they returned in 1992, by which time Waddington had been replaced by Jon’s wife: Helena Marsh
