Atrium Carceri is a Swedish musical project by Simon Heath, originally released by industrial record label Cold Meat Industry but now available via Heath’s own dark ambient label Cryo Chamber. Atrium Carceri is typically described as dark ambient, black ambient and ambient industrial music.
Roland TR-808 vs Korg Volca Beats

I noticed there was no TR-808 / Volca Beats comparison on YouTube, so I thought of posting one for today’s daily video. I know, I know… it’s sort of a silly endeavor and also a bit unfair to compare a mega-classic that these days goes for $3K to a super-cute little $150 box… but I think both machines are great and each has their own unique character! I have to say, I am impressed by the whole Volca line (I recently got all four models and will be posting videos of the others soon). The bass drum on the Volca Beats is amazing, by the way!
Roland Boutique JU-06, JP-08 midi controlled with Ipad
Just a little demonstration to controll the Roland Boutique (Ju-06,JP08) synthesizer over midi/Sysex with Ipad and the app “TB midi stuff”
Every fader movement or button pushing can be recorded in your DAW. It works very fine.

The sounds are nothing special just to demonstrate the functionality
JU-06 : Preset with the Sequencer
JP-08 : Preset and i recorded (midi) a chord in my Daw and looped it.
The app Tb midi stuff is not a expensive one and i can really recommend it.
It is possible with the software to convert the sysex in midi cc “IraVirus” has realise that in his JP-08 template.
I hope that would help some people who are interested in this kind of stuff 😉

PULSAR is an effect processor that enables you to apply complex rhythmic and FX/Lo-fi textures to any kind of audio source.
Combining two “Slicers” (independent Step-Sequencers – one per audio channel – with variable gate repeats per step), you can “slice up” your sound and modulate the
parameters of the main FX and VCF/VCA sections.

Create your “sliced” signal with the variable number of gate triggers per step

Adjust the sync factor to the host clock, sequence length, step On/Off state and gate width for both sequencers

Shape the overall sound with the analog sounding multimode filter in the VCF section

Insert an effect in the FX section choosing from four different algorithms (Tape Echo, Pitch Shifter, Modulator and Lo-Fi)

Make the final adjustment in the VCA section with controls over stereo widening and distortion level

Modulate the main parameters with the CV control from the two step sequencers

Use the CV smooth to glide between values

Mix the dry/wet signals of either the two “slicers” and the main FX

See how parameters are being modulated by the sequencer with the LED blinking inside each main knob

Moog Source funk bass live tweaking
One might think that the lack of knobs on the Moog Source could make the synth slower to program. Actually, the extremely high responsiveness of the “big knob” makes programming in real time just about as fast as one-knob-per-function machines!

I apologize for the background noise. I was trying direct recording to camera which seems to have added some noise. All the samples are courtesy of Legowelt who sampled his Roland JD800. Everything was written with the Elektron Octatrack using the Arranger mode to play through the patterns in the form of a composition.

DIY: Selfmade Synthesizer by Kurt Diedrich
Selfmade Sythesizer planed, build and played by Kurt Diedrich
Kurt says in the video that it’s modelled after a Minimoog with discrete circuits (no special ICs), but he mentions only one oscillator specifically (but later you hear a second one), a filter (ladder presumably), vca and two envelopes, which are ADSR not ADS. The oscillators have switchable waveforms, octave selectors and frequency (LFO or third oscillator?) and pulsewidth modulation. There’s also portamento.
KORG is releasing a 4-voice analogue synth: Minilogue
It appears as a new polyphonic analog synth will be making its debut at the 2016 NAMM Show – the Korg Minilogue.
Unofficial images has leaked out, via multiple sources, of the Korg Minilogue synth – an as-yet to be announced keyboard.
