Quicktronic live performance
A live performance of the song “Quicktronic” featuring the Be-Bot app on the iPhone. I used to play the therimin so I get a huge kick out this app and wanted to do something with it. I’m triggerig 7 tracks of Ableton Live using the Novation Launchpad while mixing in the Be-Bot. The song has a house/broken beat feel with a twist of drilling drums. Ball-bearing controlled drum sequencer
This video demonstrates BeatBearing – a ball-bearing controlled drum sequencer.

A quick demo of the BeatBearing that I put together for my PhD viva presentation. I captured a lot more footage than this, but had to cut it down for the presentation, I’ll try and get an edit that shows more of the novation launchpad as a pattern selector for the next video!
Novation Launchpad tutorial
Rupert Brown explains the basics of working with the Novation Launchpad and how the basic modes work.
I have just received a Launchpad from the good people at Novation and I am really enjoying it so far. I have already done a first impressions review comparing the Launchpad vs APC40 so I thought a tutorial might be more interesting. So in this episode I am going to cover the basics of how the different modes work. Comment if you want to see more Launchpad tutorials and I might dig in deeper!
