Only internal sequencers used. Midi clock signal from Korg Electribe ER1 goes into Midi thru-box to sync Microbrute, Volca Bass and Sidtracker (via I-rig2), Volca Sample synched from Bass. Some FX (rev/del) on Microbrute, Volca Bass and SID.

Yamaha today officially introduced its Reface line of mini keyboards
Key features of all the keyboards in the Reface line include:

- 37 keys with HQ-Mini action, derived from Yamaha’s flagship Motif XF

- Yamaha Reface Capture – an iOS patch librarian app

The Reface keyboard line was inspired by the form factor of the Yamaha CS-01, a mini synth that featured a built-in speaker. The new keyboards use a similar form factor, but have sound engines designed to recall four different Yamaha keyboard lines.

Why should guitarists have all the fun playing outdoors or anytime inspiration strikes? With the press of a button, the reface DX changes from retro-80s tones to cutting-edge modern sounds perfect for EDM. reface YC reimagines the YC Yamaha Combo organs, introduced in the late 1960s and used by Pink Floyd, Tangerine Dream and others. The YC offers all the expression of drawbars, rotary speaker, percussion and effects. It includes five retro organ sounds—ranging from tonewheel to transistor to the original Yamaha Combo organ—and 128-note polyphony.
reface CP redesigns the Combo Piano, launched in 1975 and ubiquitous on stages during that era. The sound enhanced the work of Keane, U2, Genesis, Billy Joel and more. The CP model features six electric piano sounds including tine, reed, clav, toy and CP80 plus direct control of six different 1970s-style effects built into its retro-chic design. It also includes a sustain pedal input with a half-damper response and 128-note polyphony.
reface CS rekindles the legacy of the CS-series Control Synthesizers, introduced in 1976 and played by Vangelis, Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson, among others. Offering 8-note polyphony, reface CS uses virtual analog synth technology and five flexible oscillator modules to create a wide variety of complex sounds from analog to digital.

Koushion “Hard Edged” CC Sequencing
Checking out some the latest Koushion update. You can now turn off MIDI CC smoothing. This lets you get some do some really nice rhythmic parameter changes. Great when used by itself, or in a clock-synced production environment.
New The Cure album out soon featuring ‘rescued’ tracks from dropped 2CD album
The Cure frontman Robert Smith has announced that a new The Cure album is in the pipeline. It will hold several tracks from the canceled 2CD record they had planned to release earlier but which remained unreleased. Something that really pissed of Robert Smith because The Cure had cancelled their upcoming North American tour so they could polish off their new double album.
Robert Smith: “I was so fucking angry that they wouldn’t release a double album that I wouldn’t give them the other songs.”

Interview with synth pioneer Tom Oberheim
Mitch Gallagher sits down with synthesizer legend Tom Oberheim for a special interview at Sweetwater’s GearFest 2015. A pioneer of the synth and MIDI world, Tom Oberheim co-designed the Synthesizer Expansion Module (SEM), a device that allowed musicians to simultaneously combine live playing and sequenced playback – a concept that pre-dated the MIDI revolution. In 1981, he, along with Roland’s Ikutaro Kakehashi and Sequential’s Dave Smith, developed the MIDI spec, which changed the course of modern music. Tom recently re-released his famed Two Voice synth.
