Reason as a powerful mastering tool
Thanks to its external audio sampling and sample-playback capabilities, Propellerhead Reason 5 makes a handy mastering solution for your music irrespective of that music’s origin platform. SO long as you can bounce your music to a WAV file, you can play it back in Reason 5 and feed it through the impressive-sounding MClass rack effects.

Advanced Noise Removal
Marie Ebbing & Jonathon Stevens offer advanced noise removal services for music and film post production using a suite of tools by the software developer Algorithmix. These noise removal tools are divided into 2 categories, broadband — including surface noise, hiss & hum; and transient — including camera hydraulics, coughs, page turns and other instantaneous noises.
Their use of these tools extends into the non-standard as well. They can remove unwanted dialog and music from stereo or multi-channel master recordings. Rebalancing or complete removal of instruments in a master recording is also possible and on occasion pitch correction to a specific instrument in a mix. Mid-Side Processing for Great Masters

When it comes to mastering, one of the hottest things right now is a technique known as “mid-side processing.” As a basic description, mid-side processing uses phase cancellation tricks to isolate the mono information in a mix (bass, vocal, kick drum) from the stereo items (guitars, keys, effects) and then lets you master them separately and recombine them for a very nice sounding master.
