The Arcane Pillar is an hermetic musical instrument.
To make it work, one must answer a number of enigmas, collect sounds of fire, water, air and earth, and finally balance them with different processes designed at each grade.
No user manual is given, but the γνῶσις that unlock the enigmas, is quite well documented on books and in the web if one knows how and what to seek…
Cheating is futile, for only understanding the enigmas presented, their meaning and consequences, it is possible to put in practice the knowledge and set in motion the inner logic of the instrument…

Analog Drum Kit M02 new drum instrument plug-in for Windows and Mac
Greynote Music has released Analog Drum Kit M02, a drum instrument plug-in for Windows and Mac.
“Analog Drum Kit Generator” (model 2) is a vintage inspired drum module plugin! It contains 10 kick sounds, 5, snare sounds, 5 clap sounds, 4 hi hats along with additional backing kick, backing hi hat & clap reverb sound generators.
This plugin comes with 24 sounds in total. Each sound is multi sampled and played back in a random round robin mode, which means: each time a sound is triggered, it will sound just slightly different. This increases the overall analog feel a lot. The sound samples are programmed and recorded from an analog hardware drum synthesizer.

MXXX – new modular effect plug-in from Meldaproduction
MeldaProduction has released modular effect plug-in MXXX, and updated all its effects and MPowerSynth to version 9.10.
9.10 comes with quite lots of workflow improvements, new features and some fixes. It is recommended to install this update. To do that, get the newest version from our download page and use it. See the list of changes for effects and list of changes for MPowerSynth for further information.
Additionally MXXX, the ultimate modular effect, has been released. It is free for MTotalBundle users and now available for an introductory price.

NS1nanosynth – new hacker friendly analog synth
The details on Soundmachines new portable modular analog synthesizer design, the NS1nanaosynth. They describe the NS1nanosynth as ‘A powerful, deep and hacker-friendly blend of a real analog modular synthesizer and an Arduino platform’.
The NS1nanosynth offers the core features of a modular synth:
- a saw core thermally stabilized v/oct VCO,
- a 12db lowpass and bandpass VCF,
- two LFOs,
- one loopable ADSR envelope,
- a standard VCA,
- two twistable attenuators,
- two pot controllers, and
- more than a dozen “micro” modules, like mixers, mul@ples, sample and hold, sum/sub blocks, inverters, logic or, and, nand, analog dividers, clock dividers, fixed voltage generators and several ‘sensor blocks’.
In addition to the analog elements, the NS1nanosynth features an Arduino Leonardo – a standard processor with native USB connectivity, which gives the tiny modular USB MIDI support and more. The NS1nanosynth is expected to be available by the end of October, 2015, for US $219 and 180€+VAT. Additional accessories, including a metal case and experimenter kit, are also planned.

The BRIT and Ivor Novello winning pop duo have released a staggering number of albums, including 5 UK Number 1’s, 17 top 10 singles (35 singles charted in the UK Top 40) and toured extensively, most recently with The Violet Flame worldwide tour which included two sold out dates at London’s Forum.

Multi-platinum selling, Grammy Award-nominated recording artist Dave Gahan, along with musical partner Soulsavers, will release a new album October 23rd. Entitled ‘Angels & Ghosts’, this is the collaborators’ second album, following their critically-acclaimed 2012 release ‘The Light the Dead See’. The album will be released in digital, as well as physical CD and vinyl formats, worldwide on October 23rd through Columbia Records. The “utterly riveting” album boasts nine original tracks, all written by Dave Gahan & Soulsavers.

An evolution from their first album, ‘Angels & Ghosts’ proves to be a markedly stronger and more hard-hitting body of work. Listeners can expect to be led through an aural mix of dark, brooding sounds, elements inspired by gospel and blues, and the stark beauty that has become a signature of Dave and Soulsavers’ works. Dave Gahan’s emotionally powerful voice has never sounded better, and drives the album forward over a landscape of meticulously crafted instrumentation.
A transatlantic collaboration, the writing process started with Dave Gahan and Soulsavers’ Rich Machin exchanging demos and ideas from their respective studios in lower Manhattan and rural England. They then recorded the album with additional musicians in studios around the world, including classic locations such as Sunset Sound in Los Angeles and Electric Lady in New York. The end result is a vibrant, live-sounding album, and proof of the “instant and obvious fit” Machin felt writing with Gahan.
To fully showcase the powerful, live nature of the album, Dave Gahan & Soulsavers will bring the project to life in a series of six special shows in iconic, intimate venues across the US and Europe. Starting October 19th at the first show in Los Angeles, Dave Gahan & Soulsavers will perform as a ten-piece band, with shows in New York, London, Berlin, Paris and Milan to follow.
