A documentary following the co-curation of the ‘Oramics to Electronica’ exhibition at The Science Museum in London.
The exhibition centres around Daphne Oram’s legendary Oramics machine, and features exhibits co-curated by BBC Radiophonic Workshop, EMS and a group of contemporary electronic musicians.

Experimental French composer Pierre Henry, one of the pioneers of musique concrète, is the subject of this documentary that traces his development of a new sound that shocked the music world. During the 1950s, the radical innovator and his colleague Pierre Schaeffer created a unique form of music based on electronically modified environmental noises.

Story: A lonely desk toy longs for escape from the dark confines of the office, so he takes a cross country road trip to the Pacific Coast in the only way he can – using a toy car and Google Maps Street View.

Martin Kaltenbrunner – Tangible Music
Martin Kaltenbrunner is Professor at the Interface Culture Lab at the University of Art and Design in Linz. Before his return to Austria he worked as researcher and lecturer at the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, at the MIT Medialab Europe in Dublin, as well as further European universities. As co-founder of Reactable Systems he had been mainly responsible for the interaction design concepts behind the Reactable, which has been successfully introduced by renowned artists such as Björk. The instrument has been shown at several international media art and music festivals, and was awarded with the Golden Nica for Digital Music, two D&AD Yellow Pencils and the Prize of the City of Barcelona. Kaltenbrunner publishes in the context of human computer interaction conferences and his influential research on tangible interface tools has been employed for the realization of numerous artistic and scientific projects in that area.

Born in 1985 in Japan and living in Berlin since 2010.
After various music activities, in 2008 he started a solo-career in electronic music and visual arts. Since then he has been involved in the planning and implementation of numerous events in Tokyo and Berlin.
He also composed pieces for other artists and for compilations, as well as creating music videos.
With the sound and real-time generated images, he combines acoustic and visual elements in an effort to engage all the senses, not simply sight & hearing.
On the laptop Akagawa mainly produces rhythmic electronic music,and his dynamic but sensitive works resound in the hearts of the audience.
