The first one demonstrates how to make a similar synth to the one heard in Doctor P’s tracks using two of the raw synths in massive, panning 1 left and the other one right with added effects. Automate the attack for some nastiness. The second video is a how to make a pulsing pad tutorial using the the raw synth sound with automated macro controls with added effects.

Number 1:

This is a tutorial to make a Pulsing Pad. This is just the raw synth, automate the macro controls and add some FX for best results!. Goes really well with some dark bleeps!

Thor’s Multi-Osc, Noise Osc, and Filters

March 22, 2011 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on Thor’s Multi-Osc, Noise Osc, and Filters

Yet another video from the Prop guys featuring the Thor synth:

If you’ve made it this far into Synth School without dropping out or changing your major to something less technical, then congratulations. You’re nearly ready for graduation day. Today we’ll be picking up where we left off with Thor’s oscillator types, namely the multi-oscillator and the noise oscillator. There’s a lot to these simple looking modules! From there we’ll move over and take a look at the filter sections in Thor and I’ll introduce you to the semi-modular routing buttons which help move signals through Thor.

Thor Oscillator Types

March 17, 2011 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on Thor Oscillator Types

Synth School enters its final and most advanced device starting this week. Strap in and get ready because we’re about to tackle the Thor Polysonic Synthesizer. Thor is called “polysonic” because it offers a smorgasbord of various oscillator types, filter types, and signal routing options.

This week we’ll be focusing on the first major oscillator types in Thor. Each oscillator has a specific synth technology behind it and each one has a particular sound that will be suitable for different uses. If you’ve found yourself relying on presets for Thor or if you tend to go straight to the analog oscillator because it’s familiar to you, you’ll definitely want to get to know these other oscillators. They’ll expand your sonic palette and ramp up your sound design chops.

What the Mooger Fooger MF-105b actually does

March 13, 2011 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on What the Mooger Fooger MF-105b actually does

A run thru of what the Mooger Fooger MF-105b actually does.
Bypassed all other fx & is Bass (Ibanez SR-1000) plugged straight into the mf-105b & then into a mixer & recorded into GarageBand.
I run through some animations & how the filters work & then use it as a drive pedal.

My Dubstep Dn’B sound that I’ve created so far using a Moog MF-105b, a Moog MF-101, a Boss CE-3 chorus (on loan from a good friend) & a 80s PSK SDS-2 distortion pedal.

The Insider’s Guide to REAKTOR is a downloadable video tutorial that can help you achieve pro-level skill with REAKTOR faster and more easily than any other tutorial on the market…

Produced by sound-design wizard Dan Worral (who has produced feature vids for FabFilter, Camel Audio, and others), this video spills the inside story on how REAKTOR “thinks,” getting you near guru status almost overnight and allowing you to bypass the endless hours of frustration that most producers sink into the program when they try to go it alone.

Here’s a small sample of what’s in store for you:
A sneaky tactic for using probability to generate totally original “out-there” sounds with Lazerbass.
Fly up the learning curve on REAKTOR’s Rhythmaker step-sequencing uber-tool (including a shortcut for getting to the precise rhythmic variations you’re after).
Put your loop skills on steroids with Sample Transformer, REAKTOR’s new sample manipulation tool.
Quickly “get” how REAKTOR “thinks” (nailing this will turbocharge your REAKTOR learning curve and put you light years ahead of most producers).
Clear away the confusion about what will (and won’t) save with your project files (and NEVER lose your work again).
