Here’s a nice new video featuring one of my favorite synth acts – Yellow Magic Orchestra
This strange message was accompanying the video, if anyone knows what it means, please let us know
“Previously I UP, UP was again!” (Googlish japanese)
YMO will be live at 31th July on Fuji Rock Festival!!!
Ryuichi Sakamoto performed an experimental set with piano and electronics. Recorded at The Stone in New York City on February 26th, 2011.
YMO has a new official homepage on Facebook:
Who made the first chip tune? Yellow Magic Orchestra must one of the first at least, including arcade game music into their song Firecracker in 1979. Also other tracks on their debut album includes computer game references. In those dayes you didn’t have like SIDstations and the likes so they used their Moog Modular to emulate all the noise.
Pretty amazing computer graphics in the video to. And it’s made in 1979. Enjoy!
Hello, it is my version of YMO Rydeen played on the AtomoSynth Krakken keyboard analog synthesizer.

YMO ’83 dispersed concert at Budokan / Keys
Thanks Eddie for the tip
Got a tip on Facebook of this really nice song with YMO. Definitely one of my old time favorites
Strange to see sakamoto-san on drums, but then again i’m sure the ‘roles reversed’ was all part of this video
Being a big fan of YMO I just had to throw this one out .-)
“Blank tongues ablaze!
Here’s a fancy version of Solid State Survivor (ソリッド・ステイト・サヴァイヴァー) by Yellow Magic Orchestra, complete with a very silly video of greenscreen, some of my film photos, Super 8 footage, video feedback and a few shots of YMO I found on Google Images.
This is also my first HD video despite the fact that I still don’t have an HD camera – the video clips are stitched together from multiple SD shots (if you look closely at the first shot you can see the seams). This is also probably going to be the last video I make for a while because I’m going to university next week, so enjoy – it could possibly be the last ever Envelope Generator production!
Song by Yukihiro Takahashi with lyrics by Chris Mosdell.”
