Follow-up of the MS-20 mini bass excursion demo w/ some SQ-1 sequencer madness, modulation weirdness, and a patch that will make you wonder if the mini is having a meltdown. With a special appearance from a Boss DR-110 drum machine, the Accent Trigger Out is going to the SQ-1 Sync In. Again I have framed the shots so hopefully you can see all the settings and patch cable connections.
All sound taken raw from the mixer, no additional effects were used in capturing the audio.
Toa Mata Band – Listen to the LEGO robotic band
Toa Mata Band is known as the World’s first LEGO robotic band controlled by Arduino Uno, which is hooked up to a MIDI sequencer. In this video (the fourth episode) the robots are playing another tribute, this time to the coolest electronic music duo ever. Enjoy!
The performance was recorded live in July 2015.

Video demonstration of a 1965 Mellotron
The personalities Eric Robinson and David Nixon introduce us to the musical instrument the Mellotron, London.

The narrator introduces us to the personality Eric Robinson who explains to us from his living room armchair the new instrument we are about to see which can make all the sounds of an orchestra, but can be played by one person – The Mellotron.
The camera pans as Eric walks to introduce us to his son-in-law the magician David Nixon. M/S of David Nixon seated at the Mellotron that looks very much like a piano or organ. Eric and David talk about the complexities of the machine. Then David gives a demonstration and lets rip with two fingers only to produce an awesome sound!. C/U of Nixon’s hands as he twists a few knobs to add a trombone sound, and starts to play again.
M/S of Eric asking David what other rhythms the machine can play. David replies by launching into a French accordion with a Viennese waltz. C/U from inside the machinery of the Mellotron. We see the various components at work as David plays.
Finally, Eric introduces us to Geoff Unwin an expert pianist to show what the machine can really do. M/S of Geoff playing great piece of music, the Mellotron produces a variety of amazing sixties musical sounds. M/S of Geoff finishing the piece. He turns to the camera and smiles.

The classic Alpha Juno-2 is often used for its “hoovers” and other hard dance sounds. But there’s also a gentler, ambient side. This video explores that side, using an old faithful – the MidiVerb II – for the reverberations.

Voxpat – new standalone software tool for FX sound creation
Digital Brain Instruments has released Voxpat, a standalone software tool developed to create high quality monster, other world creatures and robotic voices for games, films, music, multimedia projects and sound libraries in just a few minutes.
Procedural audio, audio synthesis, audio convolution, among other audio manipulation techniques, are used in real-time to create multiple layers of sound using a user’s own voice or pre-recorded audio files.
