In a near future when we know of no separation between humans and machines, when humans extend their minds and bodies with nanobots and artificial intelligence and become superhumans – what kind of music will they make? Non-biological intelligence will have access to its own design and will be able to improve itself in an increasingly rapid redesign cycle. But superhumans will also be expressing themselves by art and music – getting in touch with their human legacy.
Singularitarians has already started this transcending journey, having recognized that the future is already upon us. What you hear on this album is the sound of the future, filtered through the past now – this is the sound of Retrosonic Voices…
NOISE: 3D Touch on the iPhone like you’ve never heard it before
Roli today announced the release of Noise, a free app that takes advantage of the expressive music-making potential of the iPhone.
Stemming from the company’s years of research into “touch-sensitive musical interfaces,” Noise is a ‘full-bodied instrument’ that makes use of the 3D touch-sensitive capabilities of the iPhone 6s.
Noise support Multidimensional Polyphonic Expression (MPE), which means it can also be used as a sound module with any MPE-compatible controller, like the LinnStrument.

NOISE is the most expressive music app to ever hit the glass surface of an iPhone. Building on both the 3D Touch technology of the iPhone 6s and ROLI’s expertise in touch-sensitive music interfaces, NOISE transforms the surface of your iPhone into a powerful multidimensional instrument.
Its unique playing surface is laid out like a piano keyboard from the future. Where you used to have keys, you now have a continuous set of “keywaves.” You can strike, press into, glide left and right, slide up and down, and lift off the keywaves to create unique sonic effects.

Tape – new Kontakt library that explores sonic degradation and recombination
Soundiron has announced the release of Tape, a Kontakt library that explores sonic degradation and recombination, featuring hundreds of uniquely-styled percussive strikes, stingers, multi-samples and FX that will burn right through your mix.
Each sound has been hand-crafted by sonic artist Spencer Nunamaker (designer of Drip & Crystal), shaped from acoustic recordings captured through destroyed cassette and microcassette tapes, all mangled into a distinctive collection of instant sonic goodness for your electronic and hybrid percussion needs. Tape is perfect for minimalist, EDM, IDM, dubstep, chillwave, glitch, post rock, soundtrack, downtempo, dub and ambient music. It’s also fantastic for sci-fi sound design and creating user interface SFX for games and apps.
All of the sounds are designed for complete cohesion, so that any sound can blend or be sequenced with any other sound in the library. You can tweak your sounds with tons of real-time parameters and automate every detail with flexible control features, like attack, release, transient offset, dynamic swelling, filter type selection, resonant filter sweep and a robust Arpeggiator system that provides a full range of easy and inspiring arpeggiator options.
There’s also a complete multi-FX rack, including convolution reverb with dozens of unique spaces, such as cathedrals, churches, halls, bunkers, garages, tunnels, chambers, rooms and plenty of otherworldly FX impulses to fully explore and endless variety of strange and unexpected sonic manipulations. You’ll also find several distortion, amp and speaker types, phaser, flanger, lots of filters, delay, compressor and more.
The flexible user interface is designed for the full retail version of Kontakt 5.5 and later, but all of the samples are unlocked 24bit/48kHz wavs that you can use in any standard wav-compatible program or plugin you like.
Tape features
- 8 powerful Kontakt .nki instrument presets.
- 754 Samples.
- 412 MB Installed.
- 24-bit, 48 kHz Stereo PCM Wav Format.
- Unique percussion kits and category banks.
- Tonal Pads, Leads, Atmospheres and Mechanical SFX.
- Multi-FX Rack and reverb with 70 room, hall and FX impulses.
Tape is on sale for $24.99 USD until January 1st, 2015 (regular $39 USD). Requires full version of Kontakt 5.5 or later.
Roland SH-101 Plug-In/Out Synthesizer
The Roland SH-101 Synthesizer is a legendary monophonic Synthesizer with a basic synthesis structure. With the ACB Technology, Roland emulates the old analog hardware Synthesizer and bring it as plug-in/out Synthesizer.
This video demonstrate the sound quality of this new emulation of the SH-101 Synthesizer. In my eyes, the SH-101 Plug-In/Out Synthesizer is a high quality SH-101 Emulation and offers a good sound quality. With optional effects, it goes behind the classic analog hardware and gives more possibilities to the plug-in/out versions.
With the color schemes. you can personalise your own SH-101 Plugin. Only negative point is that the emulation doesn’t have this 100% analog sounding punch but is very near on the original SH-101. For people who need the SH-101 Sound, it would be a perfect Synthesizer for you.

Introducing Auxy for iPhone
Auxy brings real music creation to iPhone in a new format that lets you focus on your musical ideas and be more creative. Read more and download the app via: http://apple.co/1lSrDKt
“Building the iPhone version has helped us clarify our mission: to provide the best tools for mobile creators and make it possible to produce real music just using phones,” says Auxy founder Henrik Lenberg. “The way to get there isn’t by replicating the features you find in today’s desktop apps. The key is to find smart ways to help users make better sounding music, be more creative, and get the full advantage of the underlying technology without having to manage all aspects of it.”
Features:
- Create drum beats and synth melodies by drawing notes on the grid. Find the perfect sounds for your tracks and tweak the effects in realtime to get the right vibe. Record your performances to capture tracks.
- Upload and share your tracks or export them as high quality audio files. Projects can be exported as MIDI files and opened in apps like Logic or Ableton Live.
- Behind the minimalist interface runs a powerful sound engine with state-of-the-art effects by Sonic Charge and FXpansion. The sounds are designed by producer 7 Skies and routed through a series of carefully tuned master effects to make your music sound fantastic.
- If you have an iPhone that supports 3D Touch, you can jump straight into editing by pressing loops, or start a new project by pressing the app icon.
