Only analog synthesizer were used in recording the tune. The tune was also recorded by analog gear only and mixed with an analog mixer. The tune is from Kebu’s upcoming debut album, which is planned to be released in 2012.
Equipment used: Korg Mono/Poly, Korg Poly-61, Moog Source, Logan String Melody, Arp Axxe, Touched by Sound DRM1, Roland TR-808, Electro Harmonix Polychorus, Seymour Duncan Twin Tube Classic, Lexicon MPX500, Allen&Heath GS1, Yamaha MT4x. Cubase & Live only used as MIDI sequencers with the tape sync handled by a Roland TR-626.

Formant Classic virtual analog synthesizer
Formant Classic virtual analog synthesizer a tribute to the legendary Elektor Formant synthesizer. apparently this synthesizer came with a manual in the late 1970’s for you to build it yourself, but in this case Eef Fonken has followed the manual and built it in synthmaker, there is a lot of information on the website about this synth and a copy of the original manual in pdf format for you to read video’s and more.

in my case i haven’t got a clue where to start to make an exact sound, but you could litterally spend hours fiddling around with the knobs and setting and make some great and crazy sounds. there are presets which you here in this video.
I can’t beleive that this vst isn’t being talked about more, because it looks like a synthesizer and works like one too. and its been around for a while now and recently updated this year for window 7, i believe ?

Although described by the manufacturer as a “digital system”, it is an analogue synthesizer. The ‘digital’ refers to the type of circuitry employed i.e. silicon chips rather than transistors. This synthesizer is rare. It will be an excellent project for anyone who likes to get these ‘old dears’ back to how they were in the land of Kraftwerk, Gary Numan and Ultravox.

I use two sequencers, one of the Synthesizers.com and the GRP A 8Sequencer. Effects comes from the Juno 60 and Doepfer Dark Energy. Leads comes from the Minimoog. Accords comes from the Roland V-Synth.

Analogue Solutions new synth: the Leipzig-s.
A very beefy analogue sound engine with a very unique edge, more on the rougher sound side. I’ve grown a soft spot for AS synthesizers eversince I got their Telemark which I cannot praise enough. Being a modular and semi-modular fan I do miss patch points on the Leipzig-s and maybe a multi-mode filter to enhance the already vast sonic flexibility of this machine. But aside from my wishlist and personal preferences I must admit that the Leipzig-s is a most powerful musical instrument.
Here I teamed the Leipzig-s up with the Telemark, Vermona DRM1 MKIII drums, the Doepfer A-100 and a string pad from the Roland JX 8-P – ALL sounds are purely analogue.
It’s a fairly large file – apologies for that. Headphones recommended. The predominance of the Leipzig-s in the mix is intended.

* Fixed: The buffer size of the delays has been decreased to 5 sec to avoid a crash when the amount of the modulation is at max.
