New release of the clever sequencer Temper
The development of the sequencer/VST host Temper by Angry Red Planet have started again after a 2 year pause. The release 1.4 includes a number of bug fixes but also changes how the track levels are set. The mixer is removed and are accessed via the track inspector available when one or several tracks are selected.
Original chip tune
Who made the first chip tune? Yellow Magic Orchestra must one of the first at least, including arcade game music into their song Firecracker in 1979. Also other tracks on their debut album includes computer game references. In those dayes you didn’t have like SIDstations and the likes so they used their Moog Modular to emulate all the noise.
Pretty amazing computer graphics in the video to. And it’s made in 1979. Enjoy!
Tim Exile’s “The Mouth” based interactive EP
Long time Reaktor wiz Tim Exile released a EP in Reaktor format end of last year. It includes 4 songs in interactive format. It’s based on the Reaktor ensemble The Mouth he made previously. It required Reaktor to play but it works on the free Reaktor player.
It’s pretty awesom but it eats CPU for breakfast! Get it here!
Buffeater Lite vs. Konkreet Performer
Buffeater Lite being controlled by Konkreet Labs Performer app for the iPad. Buffeater Lite is a free version of Buffeater by Twisted Tools. In this demo video a vocal is mashed up by Buffeater Lite. The backing beat is made from sounds from Richard Devine’s Analogue Microcosm.

I used the synth waveforms to inspire the animated shapes, correlating the line movements to the yo-yo string and the rhythm to the spherical pulse. The Moog Guitar, Moogerfooger an Multi-Pedal (M3) setup from our recent video was so much fun to play with, we just had to stretch out a bit more with it… and throw in some self-indulgent video editing.
Diego Stocco – Dustland
“Dustland” is a cinematic sounding improv that I recorded with the Fence Bass. This instrument has a rough and edgy sound since it’s all made of metal, so I imagined a piece that could work in a modern Western film, I’m a fan of the genre.
Everything is created in real time, no pre-existing loops, additional tracks or post-efx involved. I built a chain of processors in Live that I control with a pedal board, all rhythmic parts and ambiences are derived from whatever sound/noise comes from the Fence Bass.

Allen & Heath releases an iPad application for its iLive digital mixing system
Allen & Heath has released an iPad application for its iLive digital mixing system. Here’s their press release with all the details…
iLive MixPad connects to an iLive MixRack on a wireless network and provides the essential controls for live mixing, including channel faders and mutes, DCA faders and mutes, image controls, aux sends, channel processing, mic-pre control and full metering. Channel processing encompasses high-pass filters, gates, parametric and graphic EQs, compressors, limiters / de-essers and delays.
iLive MixPad also offers several useful tools for system set-up, including channel assignment to mixes, a real time analyser and the facility to name and colour channel strips.
Glenn Rogers, Managing Director of Allen & Heath, commented: “As soon as we saw the iPad we were excited by the prospect of giving our iLive customers portable, intuitive control for mixing a show. In certain situations this app could even replace the console altogether, especially when supported by a PC or Mac for accessing setup features using iLive Editor software.
