Great news for you all today 
The production company behind Steelberry Clones has decided to go live on the net with an all new website.
Stereoklang has collected free Reason Refills and VST plug-ins for more than 7 years now and all these are now available for as FREE downloads at the new site.
However, since the site is so new not all of Stereoklangs 16 Gb !!!! of Refills will be available from start but new materials will be added more or less daily.
You will also finsd links to favorite VSTs for both MAC and Windoes production environments and bands that want to be connected to Stereoklang will be featured on the site.

Odo from Odosynths is well known on the DIY synth forums especially the SynthEdit forum. A heavy synthedit user he has just released all his softsynths for free. Odo was already very generous giving away a lot of synths, drum machines and processors but he has decided to release all his softsynths for free.
The one pictured above, the
Double Six XXL, is an FM synth with 32 possible 6-op or DX7 style algorithms and 16 4-op algorithms. Even a cursory glance at the interface lets you know that this is a well functioned synth. 11 different waveforms for the operators, clipping/distortion/overdrive & and LoPassFilter on each operator, 19 LFO shapes, 8 and 14 stage envelopes, multimode filters, throw in a few sequencers and you get the gist…. FM on steroids.

Every week a new synth is released and very few are mind-boggling to say the least, but I think this one might be on the right track since it has put focus on alias-free oscillators. Togu Audio Line has just released TAL-Elek7ro, a new free virtual analog synth with some special features like oscillator hard-sync and frequency modulation. It features alias-free oscillators, newly developed fast envelopes and LFOs with a wide range from 0.1Hz up to 400 Hz. A free routable envelope with attack and decay is available too. This synth is useful for a wide range of sounds from percussion to deep bass sounds.

xoxos explains the model:
impulse is driven by ‘pitch’ which is a % for event per sample at oscillator pitch. tracking is implemented but architecture is geared towards percussion synthesis.
the event % is shaped with a ‘rise’ envelope that lowers the chance for events to immediately follow other events (ie. hysteresis, good for emulating ‘larger beans’). when rise is locked to pitch it can be shifted by +/- 2 octaves. ‘tail’ multiplies the % after the rise period to reduce longer gaps.
impulses are decay-stage enveloped and consist of either the envelope contour or enveloped noise, low pass filtered for dynamics performance, then routed to a bank for 5 bandpasses (# of bands can be reduced to save cpu).
Ronald Passion has created freeware effect plug-ins for Windows PC. The plug-ins are done in SynthMaker and include some custom code. Make sure to check them all out

Blue Cat Audio has announced that they’ll be making their large plugin library available, finally, for Mac OS X.
 We are happy to announce that we will be releasing Mac versions of our plugins before the end of the year. The public beta program for our free VSTs started today, while the Audio Units versions are still in work. These releases will also include updates for the PC versions.
We plan to release our freeware plugins first, and our commercial plugins will then follow, most of them being expected before Christmas. |
The first release — available now — will be a collection of the Blue Bat Audio Freeware plugs, meaning the first OS X plugin bundle will also be freeware, i.e. it’ll be downloadable at no charge.
Of course, this freeware taste is only a precursor to the “professional” plugins that Blue Cat has announced will be coming in the first quarter of 2009. “Professional” in this context means, of course, that they will be charging for them.
The Freeware Bundle will include a veritable litter of decent plugins:

ExperimentalScene has re-released its entire audio product range as Freeware, including the modular virtual studio DarkWave Studio and its VST product range: DGenR8, AntiAlias, and SpatialVerb. All product limitations have been removed so now the electronic music community is able to enjoy this software free of charge.
