MacBeth: A 10 Minute Jam!

Background video description:

Here’s a quick jam that I did yesterday featuring the MacBth Mk1 Modular Synthesizer that I built as well as the up and coming Elements Synthesizer…when you build this stuff for a living, one seldom get a chane to actually play the stuff to any worth while degree- I’m not the best at playing, but I had fun ‘making the noises’ that I’ve heard on my old records! I used an Ensoniq ASR-10 to sequence some of this stuff, and also to provide the Piano, Bass Guitar and Drums…the rest I play myself…using two 3 octave CV and Gate keyboards that I built. Using left keyboard that I play – you can here is that new Trans Diode Filter (Filter ‘D’)that built in the 5U format….there a single MacBeth Mk1 Oscillator ‘B’ going thru it…the right hand keyboard is driving two Mk1 Oscillator ‘A’ units thru the Transistor Ladder, Filter ‘A’……..and playing a lead sinewave- that’s coming from the Elements Synthesizer, quite haunting, quite spacey!……..I think this vid has it’s good moments, but also the not so good!….hope you enjoy my attempt at the old sound!

Roland JD-Xi Demo Part 1 of 4 – SuperNATURAL 2015

February 5, 2015 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on Roland JD-Xi Demo Part 1 of 4 – SuperNATURAL 2015

Roland’s Ed Diaz demos the SuperNATURAL part of the JD-Xi. The JDXi consists of 4 parts, SuperNATURAL, Vocoder, Drums and an Analog Monophic Synthesizer. Other bonuses include a TR-707 style sequencer, multi-effects and more under the hood. Demo was recorded straight into my recorder 48k 24bit stereo. There is some distortion here and there in the video due to moments of loudness. (not many though)

Propellerhead Discover is the central feed for your new musical ideas. Working with material from Discover in Reason happens with a single click and tempo information for ideas is preserved all along the way, making it easy to get going quickly adding your own production and music to the process. However, sometimes the greatest song ideas captured in Take might have been recorded by singers without a steady tempo or backing beat but that shouldn’t stop us from being able to use them in Reason. In this tutorial, Ryan shows us the basics of finding inspiration from Discover but also an advanced technique for tempo mapping and fitting freely recorded material to a fixed tempo grid ready for Reason production.
