Cement – nice pattern generator for Kontakt
Cinematique Instruments has released Cement, a pattern generator instrument for Native Instruments Kontakt.
Cement is a sequencer based pattern generator which is well suitable to enrich your music production and lend it a specific character. As the name suggests you can easily create cementing textures, crawling patterns or a fundament for your musical idea.
Cement comes up with three layered instruments which can create numerous sound colors. The instruments are: a sinus synth, a banjo combined with guitar harmonics and a music box. For changing the entire sound character, Cement provides plenty of options to modify the sound to your very own requirements: lowpass- and highpass filter (with a random high pass modulator), distortion- and speaker switches, an alternate sinus sci-fi sound, separate length settings and separate slider to set the amount of two delays and a reverb.
Cement runs in stand alone mode as well as in-sync to your host application. Just easily click on the 16th note of your choice to play the sound – a second click increases the velocity level – a third click removes the note, then click on the note symbol to change its pitch. That´s it! Beside that Cement provides 4 different kinds of scales, transposing functions, shuffle- and tempo modes and finally load/ save switches to save/recall your entire setting of Cement

Toy Piano – new sample library for Native Instruments Kontakt
AudioThing has released Toy Piano, a sample library for Native Instruments Kontakt.
I always wanted a Toy Piano like Schroeder’s, from Peanuts. I finally got this lovely 2-octaves upright toy piano and I could not resist to sample it and start making sound design. The sound of the piano is produced by metal bars stroke by plastic hammers, almost like a glockenspiel but more deep and warm. The Toy Piano was sampled with the lid both closed and open and percussions samples have been recorded playing the wood case of the Toy Piano with hands, nylon brushes and rubber mallets. There are also two ambient/pad/drone instruments created using samples start/loop tricks and a bunch of effects, both with a custom, tweakable, GUI.

Bowed Bucket Bass library for Kontakt
Tonehammer has announced the release of a new custom Bowed Bucket Bass library for Kontakt.
This is what happens when you build an instrument out of a 5 gallon plastic bucket, a wooden 4×4 and some cello strings. The bucket was fitted with tuning lugs and drilled out to allow individual strings to pass through, using the bottom wall as the bridge, so that sound projected outward and down. Then a 4×4 wooden beam was affixed to the bucket and the strings were then stretched up the heavy wooden neck, roughly nailed in place and hand-tuned. Remember that old string and paper cup trick from when you were a kid? Think bigger.
Bowing the strings produces a surprisingly clean, yet rich and beefy sound, with plenty of growl and low end and a nice bite. It’s perhaps a little similar to an electric cello, but with a special rawness and plenty of body. For the percussion elements, Tonehammer simply banged on it like an idiot, producing sounds exactly as you’d expect – plastic bucket drums. They captured various bowed articulations from both inside and outside of the bucket and also plugged in custom polyphonic Sim-legato and Uberpeggiator systems in a number of the articulations, just for kicks. And of course, as a bonus, they’ve also created a variety of very cool lead, pad, ambient droning and unique special effect presets to take it to the next level.
The library includes 29 instruments, 545 MB, 568 Samples and bonus custom convolution reverb impulse files.
This is a standard open-format library, so the full retail version of Kontakt 3.5 or later required. The Free “Player” does not support it.

Audiolung Bruno-6 Sampled Synthesizer Demo

This sample-based synth for NI Kontakt (player or full version) uses lossless .WAV samples taken from a vintage analog synthesizer of a similar name (the Roland Juno-6) and uses them as it’s oscillators. Very flexible, from sensible to crazy sounds, some of which you’ll hear in this demo.

REDD is a virtual synthesizer based on a wavetable recorded from popular analog and virtual analog synthesizers like Minimoog, Korg MS20, Doepfer, Virus B, Oberheim, etc. The main parameters of this instrument will not display the value and this it’s part of concept because you should judge sound with the ears not with the eyes.
