New stuff from Tonemeister
Michael Kastrup has released Tonemeister GM 80, an 80′s General Music ReFill for Reason.
In short this Refill could be considered as a General 80′s Music module with a twist, the twist is that the multisamples are done with effects on, meaning reverb and other spatial sound things are kept except for delays.
All multisamples are synthesized from scratch, additional samples are a special Redrumkit created for these 80′s sounds.
The Refill size is 300 MB (650 MB unpacked), covers 120+ multisamples which are made into NN-XT presets to keep things real simple.

Filter Research refill for Reason
Filter Research 2 is a continuation of the concept of complex effect devices built in the Reason environment. Far from just simple reverb or chorus devices, each patch in Filter Research 2 is a creative effect that will supercharge even the most bland mix or instrument.
The original Filter Research has yet to be matched in terms of quality effects devices for Reason. Filter Research 2 builds on this strong foundation, but exceeds its predecessor in every way. New this time, are effect patches controllable by keyboard MIDI input; as well as a wide variety of sequenced effects with inbuilt patterns; of course, a huge selection of filters that go beyond LP/BP/HP are present and accounted for. Ducking delays, crunchy envelope-followed distortion devices, and spectral processors are just some of the other highlights.
In addition to the perpetual Nucleus SoundLab focus on quality – including detailed documentation, unique patches and fully-mapped Combinator controls – Filter Research 2 introduces the Epic Combinator. These are a special category of patch that take Reason sound design beyond even our own high standards. These patches are detailed and flexible enough to compare to standalone VST effects plugins, or hardware effect devices. Not only that, but they feature an absolutely massive variety of customized Thor controls to complement the standard Combinator rotaries and buttons. New stuff from Soundcells – Digital Genome
‘Digital Genome‘ has been released!
Soundcells started working on this ReFill late 2008. “Digital Genome” slowly matured towards the final form in which it is now:
In modern molecular biology, the genome is the entirety of an organism´s hereditary information. It is encoded either in DNA or in case of this fine ReFill it´s the AMIGA1200 encoded in Reason´s NNXT samples. The AMIGA1200 (code-named ‘Channel Z‘) with it´s 8-bit Paula chip was extremely popular among producers all over the world in the early nineties. Using a specific trick it was possible to make recordings at 14-bit. “Digital Genome” picks up the thread where Soundcells left with “bitBUMPER deluxe” with it´s funky, housy and spacy lo-fi character! Warm, gritty, sleezy, dangerous and nostalgic are the keywords. This ReFill can be used as a full workstation since everything the old Amiga had to offer is in there: basses, keys, lead synths, warm pads and enough drums and percussion to eat your heart out. And do not forget the wonderful FX section – check the mp3 demos to convince yourself. The 150+ Genome combinators are conveniently built up with the right button functionality.

REVOLVER is an analogue synth refill and multisample library, based on the sounds of DSI Evolver keyboard.
In other words, it can be viewed as a continuation of the Analogue Monsters series: REVOLVER provides vivid, dynamic and rich-sounding real analogue sounds, giving you a powerful new synth in your Reason rack.
DSI Evolver is an incredible synthesizer that incorporates many of Dave Smith and Sequential’s old secrets, circuits and technologies. It uses a monstrous four oscillator voice architecture – two analogue DCOs and two digital – with two independent Curtis analog low-pass filters.
The analogue oscillators feature multiple classic waveforms plus pulse-width modulation and hard sync, and they sound really nice and big. The digital oscillators feature FM synthesis, Ring Modulation and 96 wavetables. Modulation capabilities are handled by four LFOs and three ADSR envelope generators.
The Evolver’s analog-style sequencer brings itself to life with animated evolving sounds. All modulators can be synced for massive rhythmic sounds.

CycleOn with Reason
Although not a brand new release the Cycle on from peff is a real treat (free to all reg Reason users at Propellerhead)
CycleOn is a real-time playback system for ReCycle REX loops. This combinator based instrument patch is designed to create live performance and DJ Style effects using Propellerhead Software Record + Reason 4.0 (both applications are required).
The main features of CycleOn include Tempo Synchronized Loop Playback; crossfading between two loops; auto-synchronized start and stop; loop start re-triggering effects; delay based audio juggling; a dual stage beat repeater effect; and one-click effect initiator buttons. The controls are programmed for use in a live situation, and when used in conjunction with a control surface, CycleOn patches form the foundation of a compelling performance piece.

After listening in on hundreds of different refills for Reason it is quite seldom that I find something that feels totally new and fresh, but I am inclined to change my mind on this one. Sure other refills have been published in this space before but rarely with this amount of breadth. There are not just the traditional CMB files and NNXT files that you have become accustomed to but also a several new live performance CMBs that allows you to actually be very creative on stage. I really enjoyed bringing these up during some live jamming in the studio, and to spice things up there are a several really nice Dr.Rex loops also included – and not just endless variations of the same loop in different pitches and sounds but actually quite a nice mixture of experimental, bass and pure chip sounds – I like
