This is a simple generative music synthesizer built in Max/MSP created by Diego Caponera, Nicolò Paternoster and Giuseppe Sorce. It involves 5 FM generators which play notes randomly based on a root key and intervals defined by the user. It’s an university project made for an exam for Sound’s Science degree ( Math Department of Roma Tor Vergata ).
The software is distributed “as is”, without any warranty, under a GPL license.
SmileForLive is a 5 parts generative FM synthesizer for MaxForLive, featuring:

Curve 2 virtual synth is out in new edition
Cableguys has announced Curve 2, a new version of the virtual synthesizer instrument for Windows and Mac.
Curve introduced unique waveform editing and preset sharing to the world of synthesizers. Version 2 is in the making, taking its preset sharing steps further and adding more creative sound features. All this while keeping its ease of use, at an excellent sound quality.
Changes in Curve 2
- Enhanced Audio – Curve’s unparalleled flexibility of drawing waveforms for its aliasing-free OSCs and LFOs brought inspiring, unique sounds. Version 2 adds drawable envelopes, allows for two waveforms per OSC and adds a comprehensive unisono mode.
- Expanded Preset Library – Curve’s preset library is a shared online database. Version 2 makes sharing sounds even more exciting by adding a version history, author and preset descriptions and providing a consistent library.
- Improved Usability – Curve got praises for its great usability and slick interface. On request from our users, we’ve improved the color scheme. Version 2 brings a new layout, and adds MIDI assignment.
- The Curve Community – Since the first beta of Curve 1.0, the Curve community steers the synthesizer’s future by submitting bug reports and feature requests, and by sharing presets.
The public beta for Curve 2 will start in Q1/2012, while more features will be added on the way. Those who purchase Curve 1 or the Cableguys Bundle now will get get the upgrade to Curve 2 for free.

Ultrabass MX4/4 – new bass synthesizer for dance music
G-Sonique has announced the release of Ultrabass MX4/4, a bass synthesizer for every 4/4 dance music style bassline.
Based on Alien303 DNA, a synthesizer that became very popular worldwide for its nice stable bass energy and the possibility to create fast basslines without any unwanted clicks or artifacts, which is very often a negative feature when you are trying to create basslines with a basic virtual analog/digital synthesizers.
Comparing to classic analogue and virtual analog/digital synthesizers, the sound of ultrabass’ digital oscillators (based on Alien303 technology) is extremely precise, linear and sharp like a Swiss knife which makes them ideal for electronic 4/4 musics fast basslines, without any analog artifacts like arbitrary de-tuning, phase, shape and amplitude effecting it’s stability. But the sound of Ultrabass is fat and massive like real analogue thanks to it’s analogue filters, bass saturation unit and other features.

- Single / Dual oscillator(s) that can work in two selectable modes. With octave and semitone control as well as fine and an oscillator phase micro-control knob.

- Fast linear Amplitude envelopes (attack, decay, sustain, release) without any unwanted CLICKS and ARTIFACTS that are often present when you are trying to make fast 4/4 bass with classic synthesizers.

SunrizerXS Synthesizer Updated Now With SynthStation Support
Developer BleepStreet has updated SunrizerXS, their software synth for iOS, to add support for the Akai SynthStation25.
Sunrizer is a fairly deep synth, featuring SuperSaw emulation, two independent multi-mode filters per voice, mod-wheel morphing between sounds, a programmable arpeggiator and effects.
The update adds a lot of value to both the Akai SynthStation25 and SunrizerXS. If you’re a SynthStation25 owner, the update means that you’ve effectively got a new synth keyboard for $3.
U&I Metasynth – Sound Scape
Well I must admit that this is the first time I hear of the MetaSynth
