Being a big fan of YMO I just had to throw this one out .-)

Here’s a fancy version of Solid State Survivor (ソリッド・ステイト・サヴァイヴァー) by Yellow Magic Orchestra, complete with a very silly video of greenscreen, some of my film photos, Super 8 footage, video feedback and a few shots of YMO I found on Google Images.
This is also my first HD video despite the fact that I still don’t have an HD camera – the video clips are stitched together from multiple SD shots (if you look closely at the first shot you can see the seams). This is also probably going to be the last video I make for a while because I’m going to university next week, so enjoy – it could possibly be the last ever Envelope Generator production!

Martin Gore and Vince Clarke have a complete dance album in the making
Erasure songwriter Vince Clarke has confirmed that he and Martin Gore (Depeche Mode) are collaborating on a dance record. Clarke already revealed on Twitter earlier this year that he and Gore would be collaborating on a track , but things have gotten a bit bigger since. Don’t expect the release to be ready soon, as Clarke noted in an interview to The Quietus “it’s going to be a long, long process. I’m emailing him my ideas and he’s emailing me ideas back and so we’re just compiling stuff that way.”

How to play the theremin with a Jellyfish
Artist Yuri Suzuki has created a range of musical wonders including an electronic instrument played by jellyfish, a tuneful train track and a miniature vehicle that interprets different colors as sounds.
The pieces were all exhibited at Sound Interjection!, a show that has just finished at KK Outlet in Hoxton, London.
Suzuki is a product designer and electronic musician who produces work exploring the link between sound and objects. The exhibition — which sees Suzuki collaborate with a number of other artists including Oscar Diaz and Jerszy Seymour — encourages visitors to interact with the pieces to create their own unique sounds.
Sound Chaser lets visitors assemble pieces of old vinyl records that have been sliced up into small pieces. The pieces are of even width, so that when they’re connected they create something akin to a Scalextrix track upon which a miniature car with a stylus drives. The car then plays the newly created track like a record player thanks to a built-in speaker.
Doepfer goes minimalistic
A simple beat, two oscillators, a ring modulator and a Moog filter and you’ve got a complete minimalistic setup.
