Moog Little Phatty Analog Lead sounds

June 7, 2011 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on Moog Little Phatty Analog Lead sounds

The Little Phatty boasts a 100 percent analog signal path, 100 user editable presets and a 37-note keyboard. It is a monophonic synth with two oscillators (the Voyager has three osc). Waveform selector is continuously variable between waveforms (tri, saw, square, pulse) and there is oscillator-sync. The filter is the classic Moog ladder design. Two ADSR envelope generators are available for the volume and the filter. And finally a nice LFO with six waveshapes, four destinations and rate/depth controls helps to get things moving. The ‘Master’ section of the keyboard has controls for Tuning, +/-2 Octave Transpose, Glide, Pitch/Mod wheels and some data entry controls. There are no on-board sequencers or effects.

The interface couldn’t be simpler and despite the minimized number of buttons and knobs, there are no hidden pages or sub-layers of button functions – all controls are still very hands-on and provide excellent visual feedback via two-tone back-lit buttons, dials and pitch bend / mod wheels. Beautiful, hand-built, simple, effective, powerful – classic Moog design. The Little Phatty is designed to offer a 21st century analog Moog synthesizer in a compact portable package and at a price every musician can afford.

V-DJM 2Ch – Virtual Dj Mixer (VST/PC)

V-DJM 2ch is a virtual 2ch mixer with dj functions. It reproduces the best features of the professional dj mixers in any audio host applications (it was designed to be use specifically for Ableton Live) that support VST technology.

V-DJM reproduces the “touch” of real mixers with its realistic design that gives you the sensation to mix your audio track on a real dj mixer. It can be used as an internal mixer in your host audio applications with the sound and the feeling of a dj consolle.

Sliders and knobs reproduce the typical dj mixers eq bend and volumes and this make your mixes sound more natural and warm.

All controls of V-DJM can be midi-mapped and automated (Yes, just map controls and you can use your favourite midi controller!)

Will EBM act AND ONE survive this?

June 6, 2011 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on Will EBM act AND ONE survive this?

Chris Ruiz and Gio van Oli have left And One. Here’s a translation of what they posted on Facebook: “We made a decision. After years with AND ONE we, Chris and Gio, will run another path. In the end the attitude towards music and life were too different. If all is only about being replaceable and functionless, we can’t work with that. We see AND ONE as something different as it currently is. We want and have to move. We are not mainstream – we are EBM!”

The two musicians have now formed the Berlin based band PAKT, which according to the statement above probably will be a pure EBM act with the baseline ‘Two simple guys just wanna play with you’. You can find PAKT on Facebook at www.facebook.com/PAKTofficial .

Along with the link to their new project the duo also posted a goodbye video on YouTube. You can watch it here or after the jump. Notice that the song played on this goodbye video is And One’s “Playing Dead”.

And One in the meanwhile started the Unheilig support tour today with Rick Shah and Joke Jay returning to join Steve Naghavi on stage.

Finally approaching the future of music – ROBOT CONTROLLER + 3D VIDEO

June 6, 2011 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on Finally approaching the future of music – ROBOT CONTROLLER + 3D VIDEO

Is collaboration between humans and robots possible in music?
Now the answer is yes.

This is a live performance-demonstration of an innovative research project made by Italian Institute of Technology (IIT – Advanced Robotics Department), mixing electronic music, a robot arm as a music interface, and the experience of interactive 3D projections. The robot interacts with the artist to create and modify musical parameters during the performance. On the background, 3D figures represent the robot trajectories, figuring musical parameters.

Project Abstract: “The availability of haptic interfaces in music content processing offers interesting possibilities of interaction between human users and novel instruments and controllers for musical expression. The capability to precisely modulate haptic feedback on the user establishes a direct connection with the sonic output, which enhances the modalities of artistic content creation. The use of robots as both manipulators and actuated interfaces o ers new perspective in a combined context of human-robot interaction and music playing. With this project we investigate
the use of a compliant robotic arm as a bidirectional tangible interface for musical expression. We exploited the robot capabilities to con gure a system in which a human user and the robot interact for the creation of recursive modulations of music parameters. An experimental session has been carried out with the collaboration of a musician, who performed with the robot as part of his live stage setup.”
