Buchla: Dalek Dance Party
Background info: Some fairly aggressive analog tones crunching out of the Buchla. The weird main sequence was created and being played using the 281e + 255 and 254v – reminded me of some work I did years ago w/ a VCS3…. Mega FM of the 258v’s second OSC and you get “Dalek Dance Party”
Mute launches an new music compilation called: ‘An Introduction To…’
“An Introduction To…” is a series of Mute compilations. Neither a “best of” nor a “greatest hits” but rather a series of compilations giving a revealing introduction to the world of Mute’s Artists.
First out are ‘An Introduction To…’ Balanescu Quartet and I Start Counting / Fortran 5 / Komputer.
“This is the Balanescu Quartet” is a 12-track album including re-interpretations of Kraftwerk classics and seminal works composed and selected by the Balanescu Quartet, one of the most visionary string quartets of our time. “Konnecting” is a 15-track collection of electro-pop songs bringing together for the first time the works and three guises of electronic pioneers David Baker and Simon Leonard – I Start Counting, Fortran 5, Komputer.
Forthcoming releases in 2012 include Client, Crime And The City Solution, Anita Lane, Fad Gadget, Cabaret Voltaire, Laibach and with more to follow.

AKAI MINIAK Demo
This is just a demo of AKAI MINIAK Synth. All sounds came from Miniak except drums. The track was sequenced in Cubase 5. For drum samples i used Groove Agent that comes with Cubase 5. Final mix was processed with UAD SSL 4K Channel Strip. L3 Ultra Maximizer. This is just a demo to show the sounds of the Miniak.

The Synthix emulates the Elka Synthex from the 80’s, but takes it much deeper.
16 voice analog synthesizer… Two oscillators with 4 selectable waveforms, Triangle, Saw, Square, Pulse and its dedicated PWM and Ring modulator mode. Additionally, the Triangle and Sawtooth waveforms do have PWM modes. Several waveforms can be selected simultaneously for each of the oscillators…. One multimode filter based on the CEM 3320 chip emulation, providing Self oscillating 12 dB and 24 dB low pass, 6 and 12 dB band pass, and 12 dB high pass modes…
Four D-ADSR : an enhanced standard ADSR envelope with a MIDI syncable delay.
Four LFOs, including two neverseen LFOS types…. Four embedded effects : Delay, Chorus, Phaser, Dual EQs… One Multi-track sequencer… Several playing modes including A la Moog mono modes and several Polyphonic modes…

Circuit Bent Omnichord
Omnichord Synthesizer, well circuit bent with loads of useful modifications and wicked touch points.
Analog Drums and Rhythms have new controls for tweeking and combining the preset rhythms. Also have touch points which allow the drums to be triggered by fingers!
LFO Circuit allows trippy vibrato & pitch modulation.
Lots of shiny metal touch points, and of course Wicked Glitch….
Flashing lights indicate drums, chord & bass.
About the Omnichord:
The Omnichord is an electronic musical instrument, introduced in 1981 and manufactured by the Suzuki Musical Instrument Corporation. It typically features a touch plate, and buttons for major, minor, and diminished chords. The most basic method of playing the instrument is to press the chord buttons and swipe the touch plate with a finger or guitar pick in imitation of strumming a stringed instrument.
The Omnichord is the technological successor to an earlier instrument, known as the Tronichord, with which it shares many technical and functional similarities. Omnichords often feature preset rhythms with a tempo control which the player may use as accompaniment. Several models of the Omnichord were produced, which added MIDI compatibility, a selection of voices for the touch plate, effects such as vibrato and sustain, and chord memory. Some Omnichord musicians will play the instrument as a keytar, by strapping the instrument on both ends and playing it as if it were an electric guitar.
Originally designed as an electronic substitute for an autoharp, the Omnichord has become popular as a unique instrument in its own right, due to its unique, chiming timbre and its value as a kitsch object.
The Omnnichord is still produced by Suzuki, but rebadged as the Q-chord. It features more modern versions of the original Omnichord’s features.

Nemore – sound installation
“Nemore” is a garden, consiting of 36 bendable graphite poles. “Nemore” senses the visitor. Each pole has a behavior and reacts to it’s neighbours only: and to the visitor, of course – the visitor acts an “alien neighbour”. We are interested in the question: Does a system arise from the poles behaviour, that we (the observers and the visitor) perceive as angst, curiosity, nervousness, etc.? Each pole has a distinct sound, that builds up a chord, fluctuating in resonance with the movement of the poles.
