Korg has shared this teaser image for the new ARP Odyssey, saying only “Be prepared for a new evolution 1-22-15″. Jan 22 is the opening of the 2015 NAMM Show, so we can assume that the new Korg ARP Odyssey will make its official debut at the event.

Korg announced plans in February that it plans to reissue the ARP Odyssey. At the time, Korg also announced that ARP co-founder David Friend was joining Korg as their chief advisor on the Odyssey.

With Behringer also getting into the game, as announced some days ago, we may have an interesting NAMM show ahead of us :-)

Elektron Monomachine Demo

December 27, 2014 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on Elektron Monomachine Demo

This video demonstrates the sound of the Elektron Monomachine! Enjoy!

Product description:

The Monomachine SFX-60+ MKII is the ultimate sound generator. Five different synthesis methods plus sequencing make it the mixed martial artist of synthesizers.

Each of the six Monomachine tracks is loaded with sound shaping devices. At your command is a tape style delay, a resonant multi mode filter, a sample rate reducer, a distortion effect, an arpeggiator and no less than three LFO’s – per track. The sound palette is limitless.

Despite the depth of the Monomachine it is very easy to use. Every parameter is close at hand and no confusing menus are in your way. Everything is laid out in a logical and usable manner. This is particularly useful when you perform live and don’t want to press the wrong buttons.

A special MIDI mode gives you control of six dedicated MIDI tracks. Use the versatile arpeggiators and all the other special sequencer features to take MIDI sequencing to the next level. The Monomachine is a given centre piece in any studio.

You can upload your own customized waveforms and use them in the Monomachine environment. This, plus the ability to treat sound incoming through the two external inputs using the special FX machines, makes the Monomachine a sound designer’s dream come true.

The Monomachine SFX-60+ MKII comes equipped with a +Drive by default. With a +Drive there is no risk of running out of storage space. Over 16’000 patterns, 16’000 kits and 8’000 waveforms can be internally stored.

Man and machine have never been closer to each other.

Experimental: Yes/No Questions

December 25, 2014 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on Experimental: Yes/No Questions

Sound Installation, 44 speakers, wood, black laminate, archival inkjet print on transparent, Variable dimensions.

This installation composed of two different parts, touches upon the multifaceted political, social, and cultural aspects of conflict. The first part of this installation consists of dozens of amplifiers whose fronts are covered with a photographic print of drum leather. The sounds emanating from the amplifiers are those of voices repeating the words “yes” and “no” in different languages. The effect is that of a cultural and aesthetic clash between elements suspended in a state of continuous struggle and confrontation, while building up to a final conflict.

The second part of the installation consists of embroidered ink drawings. Although the ink stains are arbitrarily created and cannot be controlled, their outlines are demarcated by the act of embroidery, which comes to define and domesticate them. In this context, the embroidery appears as a violent act, which injures the canvas in a desperate attempt to give form to the inherently formless stains.

Whereas the circular stretches of drum leather are made to fit into a square frame, the square canvas that forms the support for the ink stains is forced into circular embroidery hoops. These inverse relations between the supports and frames constitute a formal conflict. At the same time, the ink stains resembling maps of charted territories allude to additional, political and social conflicts.

Strymon Deco – a demo with TR8, Sub37 & TB3

December 25, 2014 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on Strymon Deco – a demo with TR8, Sub37 & TB3

the name “deco” is formed from decoration, that is mainly what this FX does. it garnishes your sound with a mixture of different FX.
i put it far over the max settings, so you can better hear the differences, in real it should not be used this way 😉
i like this FX very much, i use saturation on drums and on the sum of the mix, the other FX (chorus, phaser, stereo widener, etc.) i use with Synths.
