Steve Duda of Xfer Records has (re)released 8-Bit Shaper, a bent waveshaper effect plug-in for Windows and Mac.
Steve writes:

disclaimer: The sound is *slightly* different than previous, so if you happen to have the VST from 2006 in saved projects I would recommend to not update.

New emulation of the legendary SID chip
HyperSynth has announced the release of SIDizer, a new emulation of the legendary SID chip in the form of a modern software synthesizer plug-in.
Using circuit modeling technology, nearly all the unique features of the two versions (6581-8580) of the SID chip, including their famous flaws, are accurately modeled. This emulation focuses on simulating the nonlinear character of the SID filter and mimicking special 6581 distortion that mainly influences the alternation of the filtered signal in a real SID chip. It offers additional envelopes, LFOs, mod matrix and a routable bit-cruncher for adding extra lo-fi sound quality.
SIDizer’s GUI is inspired by HyperSynth’s HyperSID and offers easy tweaking for all parameters on a single page. It is not only a powerful instrument for creating the chip-tune style but it can produce a unique type of analog sound colored with harmonic distortion that is suited for creating bass, lead and drum sounds.

Forget 8bit music – time for 1bit
Tristan Perich’s 1-Bit Symphony is an electronic composition in five movements on a single microchip. Though housed in a CD jewel case like his first circuit album (1-Bit Music 2004-05), 1-Bit Symphony is not a recording in the traditional sense; it literally “performs” its music live when turned on. A complete electronic circuit—programmed by the artist and assembled by hand—plays the music through a headphone jack mounted into the case itself. The album is available from Cantaloupe Music.

Basic 64 is a free software synth inspired by the 8-bit sounds of the classic Commodore 64.
According to creator De La Mancha, “It’s not a straight emulation but is based around the SID chip with some extras for that 8-bit retro game sound, lofi gritty noises or just plain oddness.”

Amiga posses Ephidrena and Darklite
Fresh new material from well known Amiga posses Ephidrena and Darklite!
Running on AGA Amigas (not sure which spec, I haven’t tried this in my 030 yet) this demo got the first position at the oldschool competition in Solskogen 2010 party in Norway.
The demo mixes a cool video capture technique with really nice flat-surface 3D graphics and an acid soundtrack by Response. The code was by well known scener LOADERROR.
