Summing up the analog modular synth gathering at National Museum of Science and Technology Stockholm

Some 30 modular systems was on display last weekend at the museum of science and technology in Stockholm. The gathering was co-hosted in the space exhibition giving it a nice atmosphere but also giving a quite noise level as the general public was including many kids passing on their way to the toy tech department. On the other hand the Lego builders competition would leave plenty of time for parents strolling around the lovely modulars as their kids where building Lego.

This is a very rough experiment processing a Richard Water’s waterphone through a Buchla 200e (and also triggering sound in it), some MoogerFoogers (Ring & Murf) and a Jomox T-Resonator.

A study for a self composing patch with my mini Buchla 200e system.

No MIDI or sequencers or overdubs were used. Everything was triggered and controlled by the mighty 266e source of uncertainty module in realtime.
The patch can play for infinite time an incredible number of permutations.

Zunk plays a Moog Etherwave Theremin

Richard Lainhart and Thomas Zunk perform live at Avantgarde Festival Schiphorst 2010.

In this free improvisation, Zunk plays a Moog Etherwave Theremin with a variety of processing pedals, and Lainhart plays a Buchla 200e analog modular synthesizer controlled by a Haken Continuum three-dimensional keyboard controller.

The musical sculptures seen in the background are the creations of Ferdinand Försch.
