The successor of the TAL-Elek7ro

It’s time for a latest soft synth released by Patrick Kunz (Togu Audio Line): NoiseMaker. It’s an improved version of previously released TAL-Elek7ro and, according to official notes, has a completely new synth engine and a lot of improvements in sound and usability. There are 2 Oscillators + one sub oscillator. The synth also includes a small effect section with a reverb, chorus and a simple bit crusher effect. There are 128 factory presets included. Just like most TAL plugins, NoiseMaker is available both for PC and MAC and is low CPU hungry. Good freebie.

Erasure on the move

Although I have pretty much gone tired of Erasure, I am still a bit curious if Vince has managed to re-invent the band, probably not, but I am still hoping.
Vince Clarke and Andy Bell have finished work on the rough versions of the new Erasure songs. The material has now been sent to Mute Records for input from Daniel Miller. Andy Bell has followed the post parcel and is now also back in the UK. The duo have however already been planning the next phase of the process that will see them turn the rough versions into finished tracks.

Space storms – the sun synth
Space Storms can sometimes go a bit crazy, and can cause all sorts of havoc on earth, like destroying electronics, killing power grids and wrecking satellites. NASA claims that we should experience such a storm sometime around 2013.
The scientists translated measurements the vibrations into sound (as the sound itself cannot travel through the near-vacuum of space), and sped up the resulting waveforms to put them into the range of human hearing. Other than just producing some pretty amazing sounds, “sun music” has other uses as well. Professor Robertus von Fáy-Siebenbürgen, head of the solar physics research group at Sheffield University, said:
Studying the “music of the sun” would provide new ways of understanding and predicting solar flares before they happen.
Here’s a sample of what the SunSynth sounds like:
