Building an EventBot – Ableton Live
This tutorial describes how to build an EventBot from three basic modules.
I just thought I’d let you know about nwdlbots, my suite of algorithmic (generative) devices for the composition of music within Ableton Live. They include event generators, pitch and velocity selectors and control devices for interaction with each other and with other MIDI tracks and input devices.
As well as generating events at random, nwdlbots can respond to activity on other MIDI tracks in Live, or to input from a MIDI instrument. In effect, nwdlbots control the density of a piece by reducing their activity when things get too busy. They also have some rudimentary ideas about harmony and can follow a chord sequence.

Teaser for an upcoming new Chiptone Generator
This is a random melody generator with very basic control, simply flick a switch and the current random 8 step melody will latch on and playback indefinitely. To change up the notes simply reverse the switch and during the period of silence the internal CPU will come up with another mind bending chip tone melody. Powered by a 12F675 PIC microcontroller and a 3Volt coin cell battery this electronic effect is super compact and simple to assemble.

How to make a basic synth
Here are two tutorials on how to build your own basic synth using Synthmaker. SynthMaker is an audio programming tool that allows anyone to create their own sounds, virtual instruments and effects without having to write any code. These instruments and effects can then be used for playing live via MIDI or as VST plugins for use in making music using any of the popular recording software. Home made – Digi synth with analog filter and LFO
Here’s some background info on the project:
Further progress on a digital synth project that I plan to start producing very soon. The synth will be reprogrammable from any computer and the code can be easily bent or created from scratch. It also has an LFO controlled analog resonant lowpass filter to fatten up the sound (also circuit bendable) . This project will be COMPLETELY open source (schematics, code, everything) once I get everything organized.
