Here’s a new video covering the exciting area of beat juggling.

“Many of the topics we cover on this site end up touching on controllerism, or the musical manipulation of music with controllers. It seemed strange then, that we dont have more tutorials that help develop fundamental techniques and improve DJ’s music chops. Well, starting now – it’s time to end the dry spell and bring you the 2nd installment of controller essentials, which I hope to grow into a cannon of fundamentals useful for building a solid music repertoire.  Let us know in the comments what you think of the concept and topics that might help!”

“This month our resident rhythm expert, Ryan Lucero-  a professional drum instructor and performer, brings us another set of lessons on ways to improve your time and rhythm. Last month’s metronome basics provided a solid foundation for daily practice and now we dive into 3 specific voices that can be used in a set.”

The Science and Mathematics of Sound, Frequency, and Pitch

Background information: Accuracy not guaranteed. Get Audacity and play! http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

Correction: it is the “Basilar” membrane, which is what I say, but somehow between recording the script and actually drawing the stuff I got confused and thought I just pronounced my Vs poorly. Always sad to have such a simple and glaring error in something I put hundreds of hours of work into, but a “Vasilar” membrane can be the kind that a Vi draws to explain Viola Vibrations, I guess! Making up new words is just so prolightfully awstastic.

Props to my Bro for excellent and creative swing pushing, and to my Mamma for filming it.

Extra special thanks to my generous donators, without whom I would not have been able to create this video. Because of your support, I have the equipment, time, and take-out Thai food necessary for doing stuff like this.

“Sequence” Electronic Impressionen

1. Korg Triton Le 61 FX Pad
2.Korg Mono Poly Sequence(Arpeggiator)
3.Quasimidi Polymorph Chöre
4.Roland JP 8080 Solo

Hardware feature Quasimidi:

The all new PolyMorph sequencer / synthesizer is a full featured and powerful virtually analog synthesizer that assumes an evolved form and purpose of its breakthrough hit predecessor – the RaveOLution 309! First the sounds: the PolyMorph is basically four synths loaded with synth and drum sounds geared towards electronica and other forms of synthesizer music. Individual ADSR’s and filters per oscillator make for a totally tweakable and flexible synthesizer. The sequencer: 16 step, 8 variations, 4 parts or instruments. Parts and even notes can be muted or changed in real time to build and decompose your grooves or synth textures. There are also preset phrase patterns to play around with.

Aside from sounding quite nice, the PolyMorph is beefed up by a great set of effects. Add distortion, EQing, reverb, chorus, flange, etc. to each of the four parts independently! The controls, knobs and sequencer can all be controlled via MIDI for in-studio use, however the impressive multi-effects implementation alone is a major hint that the PolyMorph is a machine suited for live, DJ and on the fly music production. The PolyMorph is for those of you looking to create synth music from a stand-alone box that is not entirely focused on dance.

Re-releasing classic synthpop act – Children Within

August 22, 2011 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on Re-releasing classic synthpop act – Children Within

Swedish label Progress Productions have decided to release unreleased and long-forgotten EP with Swedish synthpop act Children Within. Classic swedish synthpopact Children Within has been more or less under the radar since the release of their album “Freedom Of Choice”. However the bands mastermind Joakim Thureby has never stopped making music. This EP called “Spotlight” was recorded shortly after the time of “Freedom Of Choice” but for different reasons it never saw the light of day… until now.

The famous trademarks of the band is all present on this release. Danceable, catchy and with strong production. “Spotlight” is for sure to become an instant hit on all the electronic pop dancefloors all over the world. Progress Productions are pleased to bring this band out of the dark and again into the.. Spotlight. Beside the original mix and a brilliant dancefloor version we are treated with remixes from Robert Enforsen (Hype/Elegant Machinery) and Fiberpunk. Also the wonderful slow track “My Thoughts Belong To No One” is included.

One of the classic bands of the worldwide famous “swedish synthpop 90:ies era” return in style.
