MUTE SYNTH Review – Wet & Dirty #TTNM

November 4, 2014 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on MUTE SYNTH Review – Wet & Dirty #TTNM

Here is a very serious review and sound demo of the Dirty Electronics Mute Synth I, a handheld noise synth with a twist … or tilt. More info below. Subscribe: http://www.youtube.com/subscription_c…

The Mute Synth is controlled by bridging connections with your fingers. It’s a weirdly fun noise maker and I’m looking forward to the Mute Synth II, which is just around the corner. What do you think?

Teenage Engineering PO-12 Drum Machine / Yamaha TG-100 Demo by Jordan Passmore

November 4, 2014 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on Teenage Engineering PO-12 Drum Machine / Yamaha TG-100 Demo by Jordan Passmore

This demo features the Teenage Engineering PO-12 Drum Machine, Yamaha TG-100 rompler/synthesizer and MTI Analog String Ensemble ADL-100 effects unit. All of these are mixed on a Yamaha MJ-100 DJ mixer. The PO-12 is being ran straight into the mixer and is only being effected by the MJ-100’s internal digital delay (you can hear me through-out the video adjusting the delay time on the effect). The TG-100, which is doing the chord/pad choir patch, is being ran through the MTI chorus unit. The MTI’s effect is quite similar to the ensemble effect built into the Solina String Synthesizer; a triple chorus with very deep modulation. The strings are also being effected by the digital delay on the mixer. The mix is then sent into my audio interface.

Please note: This is the prototype of the PO-12 released at Moogfest.

BOCS – Volume 1 (Boards Of Canada Synthesis)

Buy BOCS Kontakt Synth Here!

BOCS (Boards Of Canada Synthesis) is a Kontakt sample pack consisting of ten pads inspired by the electronic duo Boards of Canada. It’s refreshingly different compared to previous efforts from various sample packs and vst synths.

The reason why?

These sounds have been created via the methods used by the group themselves. Vintage analog synths, 4-tracks, valve amps even VHS recorders were used to create a sample bank more authentic than anything we’ve heard before.

These sounds have a dirty, dusty, and dream like quality just like that elusive Boards of Canada sound. Weighing in at just under 1 gig you can be guaranteed a truly professional sound to use for your next stunning track.

BOCS Volume 1 Sample pack requires the fully working version of Kontakt 5 to work. The purchased download consists of 10 Kontakt NKI files.

Experimental: STEPSEQUENCER

November 2, 2014 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on Experimental: STEPSEQUENCER

It’s not the music that triggers dance, it‘s the dance that creates music!

The challenge was to get the museum‘s visitors dancing. But music alone wouldn’t make it for a spontaneous groove. Therefore, we turned the tables and invented the STEPSEQUENCER – a tool which is able to create sound and music out of human movements.

Sounds and beats are being created by the STEPSEQUENCER for as long as you interact with the exhibit’s stations: a round floor-projected “instrument” and three physical tools on the side – one for jumping, one for twisting and one for seesawing.

The pads of the round floor projection are being activated by touch. If you mark a field with your hands or feet, a sound is resonating each time the rotating pointer hits the field. Depending on the marked pad’s position, different sounds are arising, each of them variously combinable with others. Once the movements stop, the sounds will hush.

WebSID – Commodore 64 synthesizer running inside Chrome browser

November 1, 2014 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on WebSID – Commodore 64 synthesizer running inside Chrome browser

Demonstration of WebSID version 2.0 running in Google Chrome. WebSID is a official Chrome Experiment showcasing the WebAudio API and experimental WebMIDI API. Using these technologies, WebSID synthesizes audio live inside your browser, in other words : no samples were used.

As the name implies, this application aims to recreate the wonderfully phat lo-fi synthesis sounds of the Commodore 64.

Those with compatible MIDI hardware, can actually play WebSID using a MIDI keyboard (see the help section).

WebSID runs on desktop, tablets and phones running Google Chrome (or Safari). WebSID is also available for free as a Chrome app.

Play it in your browser here :
