Released – version 9.6 Public Beta of FL Studio
Image-Line has released version 9.6 Public Beta of FL Studio, a music production software for Windows.
The beta incorporates a number of enhancements and new features based on ongoing development and customer input.
Changes in FL Studio v9.6 public beta
- PitCHER (Beta) – Pitch correction and harmonization plugin.
- Horizontal zoom – Improved Playlist, Piano roll & Event Editor.
- Piano roll – Vertical zoom now possible & notes include properties view.
- Note handle – On note selection to rescale length.
- Piano roll wave-display – Align notes to audio events.
- Magic lasso – Circle mouse around Notes or Clips to make a selection.
- Autosave / Autobackup – See F10 File options.
- Browser Autohide – See the Browser menu options.
- Lock Playlist tracks to clips – Right-click on Playlist tracks to lock and mimic Bock-tracks.
- Shift + Mouse Wheel – Move Channels, Mixer Tracks, Playlist Tracks & Patterns.

Newtone in in FL Studio 9.5?
Image-Line posted a preview video of a new pitch correction plugin called Newtone. According to their news page, “The final version will have full toolbars and work as a FL Studio native plugin.” – I’m assuming this means the plugin will be released in FL Studio 9.5.
Newtone could make FL Studio more relevant. Of course VST version would be even better. Bottom line, Newtone looks like an a very affordable option to get Melodyne functionality into the hands of FL users and users of other hosts via Rewire.
