Extreme sound stretching
This tutorial covers the basics of Paul’s Extreme Sound Stretch (aka HyperMammut), the software used to make the now-famous ambient version of Justin Bieber’s “U Smile” slowed down 800%.
This is a powerful, free tool that can be used not just for ‘gimmick’ tracks but also unique sound design for music production.
Note: This is available for Mac & PC.
The track played at the end is called “Scars of the Past”. It will be featured on an upcoming album, though I originally wrote it for soundtrack usage (films, TV, games, etc.) You can also hear some neat sound design using Sitar Nation by Impact Soundworks, as well as a violin part from my song “Star Trails (Emotion Mix)”.

How to step-program a clef master rhythm
Main Features

This is essentially a fully expanded Boss DR-55 feature-wise and tone-wise. The circuits are identical (schematically and tonally) to the Boss DR-55, but the Clef Master Rhythm gives you way more instruments than the Boss DR-55 and ALL of the instruments are fully programmable (take a listen to the samples and then listen to the Boss DR-55 on YouTube and you’ll hear that they are identical)! There are also more patterns and more sequencing options than the DR-55. It’s what the Boss DR-55 should have been and the only reason why these machines are not in the same conversations as the Boss DR-55 is because they are extremely rare!

This is an attempt to try to show you how a sequence can be made. I found out making an instruction video is not that easy but I just wanted to share this with you. After making the video I noticed my voice was a bit soft so I tried to emphasis it with a little EQing; hope you can understand what I am saying. I did not want to redo the video because it wouldn’t be improvised anymore and I think the sequence worked out quite well. Making sequences is not an exact science so this is just an example and I do not always do it as shown. And I am not an expert in sequencing. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
