The Kemper Profiling Amplifier is a new concept for guitar amplification in the digital domain. The Kemper Profiling Amplifier “learns” the sonic behavior of any guitar amplifier and offers the tone and feel the player knows from his “real” amp. The Kemper Profiling Amplifier will come with profiles of classic tube amps: the british, the californish, the germish … of course including the classic speaker cabinets which are a part of the profiling result.

Teaser for the new VST/AU/RTAS Effect from Plogue
Plogue is proud to present a little teaser on our secret project, an “Early Sampling Circuit Simulator”, which runs as a VST/AU/RTAS Effect.
It contains resamplers, filters, speaker impulses and other fined tuned algorithms to emulate the full signal path of well known early sampling devices, like for instance an SK-1 or the Amiga Paula, from the required analog to digital conversion (far from mere ‘bit crushing’), up until the end speaker.
The same mindset that brought chipsounds to life, the acquisition, care and research is all in there. Everything that could NOT fit in chipsounds since it dealt with streamed samples is in here.
As with the NAMM2009 announcement of chipsounds, there is more to it than this, and we will keep some details, including the name and UI secret, until its ready to ship!

Demo of working VP-330 features. No Processing FX or processing. Note that my gain staging to the video capture device was not perfect so there is some amplified whine during quiet passages. The whine originates in the video gear and is not present in the audio output of the VP-330.
The Challenger – a new 25th anniversary tribute

It features an original song written 25 years ago, two days after the disaster, and never published or released – recently re-recorded in honor of this occasion.

Intro to Control: Free MIDI / OSC software for iOS
One More Muse has released Control, a new controller app for iOS that allows you to create custom interfaces.
Control enables users to create their own interfaces for controlling musical, artistic and virtual reality applications. It is built on top of Apple’s WebKit rendering engine and allows users to define their interfaces via JSON files.
Control features
- Outputs both Wireless MIDI and Open Sound Control (OSC).
- Reads and outputs data from Accelerometer, Gyro and Compass sensors (on applicable devices) with adjustable update rates.
- The ability to script behaviors for widgets using JavaScript.
- Auto-discovery of wireless networks via Bonjour.
- Interfaces can be pushed to the phone via OSC or downloaded from the web.
- Supports both portrait and landscape interface orientations.
- Interfaces work on both iPhones and iPads.
Control is available as a free app for iOS 4.2 or later.
