Modulatus Maximus

Liz Lang of Auracene demonstrates some of the many modular capabilities in the Minimoog Voyager XL while used in conjunction with Ableton Live.

“Designed in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Minimoog, the Minimoog Voyager XL is a sonic powerhouse that pays homage to important milestones in the Moog synthesizer legacy. It starts with the heart of a Minimoog Model D. Fat oscillators and warm Moog filters give it that unmistakable Moog sound and the rugged construction and intuitive user interface design immediately tells you that you’re playing a high-quality musical instrument. From the current Voyager lineage, the XL inherits a 100% analog signal path with stable oscillators, patch storage, touch surface, pot mapping and extensive MIDI control functionality. To all this, add a ribbon controller and 61 note keyboard and you have a monster analog monosynth built on a 40 year legacy of sonic exploration.”

Hybrid Control: Liine Griid & Livid Code

June 6, 2012 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on Hybrid Control: Liine Griid & Livid Code

Livid and Liine have teamed up to create a ‘unique Ableton Live control experience – Hybrid Control

Liine and Livid have teamed up to create truly unique Ableton Live control experience. Griid and Code can now be linked as a single controller via free scripts. This hybrid control concept is an innovative combination of multitouch and hardware.

Liine have often stated that the ultimate control setup involves both hardware and multitouch. They have put this approach into practice when building custom solutions for artists such as Orbital, Plastikman or Avril Lavigne’s keyboardist Steve Ferlazzo. And now, if you are a Griid and Livid Code owner, you can experience the power of hybrid control yourself.

The latest Griid update, available in the iTunes App Store, enables a special sync mode with Code. Use Griid to navigate Session View and launch clips. Tap a header in Griid to select a track in Code. Grab knobs in Code to control mixer and effects. Four different Code control modes are available: Mixer, EQ, and two for Devices. Whether you’re working in studio or live on stage, Code and Griid are always in sync.
