Elektron Octatrack Microtiming
This is a real quick introduction to using microtiming on the Octatrack and an application of it. Sometimes a loop may be largely in mono and you might want to make the stereo width seem broader. Here we have a high-hat slice on two tracks. On the first track it is panned all the way to the left and on the second track it is panned all the way to the right. You can then move the second hat around with microtiming to get a broader width.
Grokking the FS1R: Part 1- The FS1R Spectral waveforms
WARNING – This video contains loud audio . Even though a limiter was placed on the output, the nature of FM means that noise peaks are inevitable when experimenting. You have been warned!
If you don’t know what FS1R or FM synthesis are then there’s no point in watching. Really.
Part 1: A quick look at the FS1R waveforms and their basic shaping parameters .
Apologies for the background hiss – attempting to eliminate. In any case, Youtube audio cannot do justice to the output of this fabulous device.
Software used:
FS1R editor – http://synth-voice.sakura.ne.jp/fs1r_editor_english.html
Reaper – http://www.reaper.fm/
S(m)exiscope vst – http://bram.smartelectronix.com/plugins.php?id=4
Grok: “to understand intuitively or by empathy; to establish rapport with” and “to empathise or communicate sympathetically (with); also, to experience enjoyment.”

Turn you guitar into a string synth and tin whistle
Welcome to Electro-Harmonix’s “Effectology” series, in which we create a remarkable collection of impossible sounds using just a regular guitar and EHX effect pedals!
No keyboards, samplers or midi pickups were used.
In this episode I show how to turn you guitar into a string synth and Irish tin whistle.

C64 with MSSIAH Cartridge
I modded this Commodore C64 by putting a MSSIAH Cartridge, 6 pots and 2 switches in it.
4 pots are for the MSSIAH Software, 1 for Volume and 1 for a Feedback Loop I built in it.
Maybe in the future I will give this thing a nice painting or a new housing and of course pot knobs

KORG DS-10 PLUS: ‘Live Mixing (Artist Showcase)
If I ever were to play a live set anywhere, this is what I would play. By using two Nintendo DSi units with copies of Korg DS-10 Plus, I can mix my own songs back and forth. It’s quite handy, and a lot of fun. Every sound you hear was created on Korg DS-10. Feel free to ask questions. Please enjoy!!! =)

Analog shift register
Demo video of my Analog Shift Register. This is a DIY module built with a pcb designed by David Dixon.
The sequence in the middle was “borrowed” from Synthiefrau (“Hello lovely synthesizer folks!”), although it ended up getting changed a bit.
