VCI-300MkII DJ controller from Vestax
Vestax has introduced the VCI-300MkII, an updated dj controller, featuring improved platter sensitivity control, aux input to master direct thru connections and higher output master and headphone gain levels.
Vestax’s platter technology has been enhanced with new adjustable Touch Sensor knobs that allow quick and accurate control over platter touch sensitivity. Multiple sensors allow the two platters to simultaneously serve as push-pull cue and scratch control as well as up and down pitch manipulation.
The VCI-300MKII includes Serato’s ITCH DJ Software and can be powered through USB or by using the Vestax SDC-7 power supply, sold separately. When connected to the power supply, the controller offers higher master and headphone gain levels, ideal for noisy club environments.
The VCI-300MkII gives DJs the ability to customize their controllers with Vestax’s Ninja-culture influenced Shuriken jog wheel replacements and the brand new CF-X2 high performance cross fader option. Shuriken jog wheel replacements come in metal “Flame” and spoke and wheel “Bike” designs and can easily be swapped out for the original jog wheels. A non-contact digital magnetic cross fader, the CF-X2 provides fast, smooth fader action.
A direct audio thru feature allows audio to be sent directly to the master outputs from the mic/aux input facilitating DJ changeover music. The VCI-300MkII also offers a 1/8 inch mini headphone jack along with the standard ¼ inch jack.

Baby Scratch is a free App available at Apple AppStore. Made a little try out as handling is pretty amazing with awesome sample sound. App has 3 build in beat loops and some samples and voice recording to scratch. Latency of scratch sounds is noticeable but still best of all checked scratch Apps.

Andy Fletcher gets ready for new DJ tour
Depeche Mode’s Andy Fletcher has revealed how psyched he is about jetting off for forthcoming DJ tour, which starts later this month. The long-time member of the synthpop group will kick off his journey on 29 January in Bucharest, Romania, before visiting countries such as the Philippines, Australia, Singapore, Indonesia and China up to 19 March. He will play a lot of new remixes, presumably from the new upcoming remix CD. On the Depeche Mode website, he said: “I am really excited to be coming to a lot of the places that Depeche didn’t get to visit on the last tour.”
Belgian fans need not worry about Fletch – as he’s often known – leaving you out. He will hit your shores on 19 March to play at the Belzik Festival in Herve.

Tubeify Turns YouTube Into Slick Video Jukebox
A new streaming music service called Tubeify turns YouTube into an easy-to-use video jukebox.
“I tried to make it feel more like a traditional desktop music player, think iTunes or Spotify, but still web-based so you can use it anywhere,” said Tubeify creator Tomas Isdal in an interview with TorrentFreak. “Then I fixed the annoying parts of YouTube and added stuff that I always wanted in a music player.”
Isdal’s wish list resulted in a free music player with a user-friendly interface. Since Tubeify subjects users to YouTube’s hit-and-miss audio quality, it might feel a little like a poor-man’s Spotify. But it’s addictive enough to waste a few hours exploring.
With search functionality handled by the Last.fm API, Tubeify allows for quick assembly of playlists, which can be shared. The web-based service also taps into Billboard.com’s API to serve up lists from the current music charts; a cool “time travel” feature lets you explore chart-topping songs from any particular week since 1964. (Wired.com has a particular fondness for the sixth week in 1981.)
