Crashing through Mirrors – Moog Voyager, Adidas tracksuit and a wall in Berlin
This video is about the interaction of a man in a tracksuit with a Moog synthesizer at a wall in Berlin.
The song actually is a metaphoric story about a broken mirror, but there was no mirror available, not even a broken one. But we had a wall, which is even more metaphoric.
My thanks go to cam operator Mr. Berg and head of production Antje.
Exploring a “Moog drum machine”
It’s Full of Stars continues her exploration of modular synths, this is what she mentions around this video:
“As far as I know Moog have never made a drum machine. Imagine how cool a huge early 70s Moog drum machine would be – with big knobs, wooden sides and a massive analog sound! So I decided to construct my own Moog drum machine today, using the modular
The 960 sequencer is sending triggers to the trigger gate module. Row A of the trigger gate is making the bass drum, which is 2 VCOs going into the Cynthia low pass gate with some pitch modulation. Row B makes the snare drum, 3 oscillators and some noise, going into the Moog 905 reverb, 904 filter, using the 911 envelope (and the MXR Flanger/Doubler). The high hat is noise / envelope triggered from the main clock, but going into the SSL VC Delay module”
Vangelis CS80 sound from a moog little phatty …finally!
“Working on the moog for a while, didn’t like it at first, vary raw and growly..:) trying to tame it”
Originally created on a Yamaha CS-80, it’s been mimicked on just about every synth released.
Here, mik300z, who’s a master at ‘reverse-engineering’ iconic synth sounds, improvises with his take on the iconic sound, recreated on a Moog Little Phatty, with the help of the ‘Hall’ reverb preset on a Behringer mixer.

club of the knobs – synthesizer model 15
This is a little demonstration of the replica of the mighty Moog Model 15 from Club of the Knobs. The challenge was to create a self-sequencing patch with no other use than the Model 15 and the great M569 sequencer from Moon Modular. I recorded the audio directly to the Zoom R16 and added only some delay. No other effects or mastering utilities have been used.
