MVerb – free download
MVerb is based on the figure-of-eight reverb structure suggested by Dattarro, which uses a bank of allpass filters to smear the phase followed by a loop of multi tap delay lines that feedback into themselves to create echoes. I have also added another delay and a mutitap delay to act as predelay and early reflections. The early reflections still need a bit of tweaking but they do the job for the moment.
GlaceVerb VST with acoustics
GlaceVerb is Dasample’s first attempt to implement its works on Residual Vector Modulation (RVM) in a VST plugin. RVM is a proprietary algorithm developed to calculate the deformations, the vibrations and the acoustic response of surfaces and materials .Imagine a big orchestra playing in a giant box builded with thin metal sheets. As the panels are not very rigid, the box will vibrate according to the energy of music and produce an audible spectral deformation. RVM algorithm is able to simulate such deformations and vibrations and apply them to the original signal. GlaceVerb is the only VST reverberation plugin able to modelize liquid acoustic spaces like water. Unlike other reverbs with presets named Room, Cathedral, Stadium etc.

Focusrite launches Scarlett
If it is the ultimate as they claim remains to be seen, but it sure looks promising
Focusrite is pleased to introduce Scarlett, a professional software suite that provides the definitive collection of compression, gating, EQ, and reverb plug-ins for tracking and mixing.
From one of the most prestigious names in pro audio, made famous by the original Red range and the classic ISA console modules, Scarlett provides a beautiful upgrade for any Digital Audio Workstation. Not only does it sound great, the Scarlett user interface features a stunning Red anodized aluminum look featuring intricately modeled, life-like VU meters, setting the standard for drop-dead gorgeous plug-ins.
Each powerful Focusrite plug-in has a host of fast and easy-to-use presets, providing a great starting point for processing everything from vocals and guitars to synth bass and percussion. In addition, every plug-in parameter can be finely tuned to achieve the desired sound. So for preset users and perfectionists alike, Scarlett is destined to become the new ‘go-to’ plug-in.
Scarlett works under VST, AU and RTAS (Pro Tools) hosts, and runs on Macs and PCs, making it the perfect bundle for any music software user.

Rob is back with a new great plug-in
This is what you cn read about the new reverb effect
Reverb is a very critical effect when mixing. A bad sounding reverb can ruin the mix of your music! Today’s powerful computers makes it possible to run far more complex algorithms then in the past. But still… it is down to the algorithms if a reverb sounds great or terrible.
As a young synth player, Rob became obsessed with rooms and reverbs. Together with Jon Ayres, Rob Papen has dived into codes and searched for new directions.. new algorithms. After long testing and tweaking, the result is an unique sounding reverb plugin, the reverb you have been waiting for for year to have available in your setup.
The first respond of pro users like Arman van Buuren were comments like “Wow” or “Amazing!”….
The “main focus” of the RP-VERB plug is its sound. So the controls are “exactly” the ones you need!
Easy to use “space types” are included, each of them have their own character. Long tail reverbs… or unheard of rooms are possible. Just like the RP synthesizers….it is purely made for audio quality, performance and making music. Mix with RP-Verb and you will discover its amazing sound.

New stuff from Rob Papen
Spotted this intersting story on the net today, and based on what Papen has delivered before I believe this is well worth waiting for:
Just recently Rob Papen released his latest VSTi SubBoomBass. However that doesn’t mean he is leaning back and enjoying some rest. At this time he is very busy working on another project (together with RPCX). Not a virtual instrument but an effect plugin.
The new project is a reverb plugin. It will not be a ‘convolution reverb’. This reverb is based on a new algorithm by RCPX (Rob Papen and Jon Ayres). What we know already is that it gives the processed audio a surprisingly warm sound and new types of colouring. An early comment from Armin van Buuren was that it sounded ‘bizarly good’.
However, as we learned from Rob, this new reverb plugin is still in development. Layout, GUI and even the name still have to be finalised. Details on beta testing, specifications or release are still unknown. As soon as Rob releases more info you’ll find it here.
| SubBoomBass ! |
SubBoomBass is filled with excessive amounts of low end ammunition to detonate your tracks! With presets designed by Rob Papen and other guest artists, this dedicated bass synth will supply you with huge cone-rattling sounds that will devastate any dancefloor.
SubBoomBass has been carefully crafted to provide you with the tools to create fresh new bass lines for any musical style.
Rob Papen again displays his cutting edge and innovative style by combining the ‘phat’ sounding synth engine with tuned drum percussion samples and rare samples.
Other features include a groove sequencer and two effects slots which can be modulated. SubBoomBass also features a great ‘Easy Mode’ page and the unique ‘Quick Browser’ system that will allow you to find the sounds you need quickly and easily. Great for Hip Hop and RnB, this software instrument can also be used for Dubstep, Drum and Bass, Garage, Grime and much more.
Make sure you check out the mp3 demos!!
